Questions 3: Preparing for Tribe of the Snow Tiger

With the secret project up and running, I’ve got to set my sights on the next project.  If you haven’t heard Beginning of a Hero is free now.  You might be noticing that I’m also starting to hype Tribe of the Snow Tiger, which is Book 10 of Legends of Windemere.  That means I need to get volunteers for this.

Now, nearly everyone who volunteered for the secret project also said they would like to help with this.  For that I am thankful and hope you keep reading to hear about what I’m planning.  Feedback would be good too because I’m not exactly sure what I’m doing here, which is business as usual.

I’m going to have the ‘Book is Live’ post as usual.  Those help out with the initial boost, but I’m trying to think of other blog tricks.  Blogging is my strongest promotional weapon, especially since I don’t have a lot of marketing funds.  So I want to do guest posts that connect to the story too.  The thing is that I don’t want to take over blogs a bunch in one week, so I’m not sure exactly how to do this.  So I’m leaving it up to volunteers to decide what they get.

  1. Would you be willing to host a ‘book is live’ post for Tribe of the Snow Tiger?
  2. Would you want a guest post as well or instead?
  3. Do you think I should drop Crossing Bedlam to 99 cents?

I know this is an odd way of doing it, but I wanted to get the ball rolling here.  For anyone who wants a guest post, we can discuss a topic in the comments or by email.  The book deals with Timoran, heroes splitting up, barbarians, honor, Queen Trinity, the chaos elves, grief, and rivalries.  That’s really all I can do without going too far.

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

what about a box set special if you order all the books or the first three books in the series. Does Amazon allow you to do that?

Sure I can post a book is live post. As for Crossing Bedlam, sure.
By the way your guest post on my blog goes up later tonight.

    1) I’d be up for it.
    2) Book is live, guest post, both…any of those would work for me, really.
    3) I say go for it.

  5. Yes, yes and yes. You could drop it to a ‘promotional’ price or a limited time only – that usually gets attention 🙂

    1) Yes
    2) Yes. Both or either will work for me.
    3) This tactic always works for me to try a new series.

    • Thanks. Since the guest post would happen a week or two after the book is live, I was thinking of just making a note of who was in for that. Flying by the seat of my pants.

99 cent starter does seem to be a smart idea. Worked for me before.

  8. Would you be willing to host a ‘book is live’ post for Tribe of the Snow Tiger? Yes
Would you want a guest post as well or instead? in addition, I would like to do an interview. I will send questions for you to answer. If you don’t lie the questions you could also sub what you do like.
Do you think I should drop Crossing Bedlam to 99 cents? Don’t like the idea right now. You just went free on Beginning and should wait. (need to hype it.)

    • Got confused for a second when I saw only part of the comment. Thought you were asking me to host a ‘book is live’ post for you. 🙂

I like the idea of an interview. Once the book is live, we can work on that and get it out maybe two weeks after the release? Try to spread out the word spreading . . . that is a horrible sentence.

I’ve been hyping Bedlam for a long time. Even some paid stuff last month and this month. Nothing is happening. Still, I’ll see what I can do before I make a final decisions. Any ideas?

  9. I’m in for whatever you need. As for #3, yes, but you could try it for a limited time and only once the new cover is finished. You can market it as a relaunch.

    • Not sure how much marketing I’ll do on it. That usually requires money and I need to save what little I have for the next Windemere book. I’m considering the limited time or having it take a similar path to ‘Beginning of a Hero’. That one did well as a 99 center. All depends on how it does after the price change.
