Questions 3: Double Trouble

Spider-Clone Saga

Spider-Clone Saga

Welcome back to Questions 3.  You know the drill.  Answer here.  Answer away and link back to here.  Most importantly just have fun.  That goes for the other you too.  😉

  1. What would you do if you opened the door and saw another you standing there?
  2. What if it was a double of a loved one?
  3. What’s the one thing you would do with a clone?

Thinking of making ‘Questions 3’ for October about various monsters like ghosts, vampires, and werewolves.  At least the ones you can turn into.

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

  1. 1.) I’d grab him and tell him to edit my manuscript while I’m at the paycheck job.
2.) I’d tell them to clean their room together.
3.) revisit that first answer. I’m sure I could find something for him to do.

    What would I do?
    1. What would you do if you opened the door and saw another you standing there?
I would say, “Good. Let’s get down to business.” Because obviously my clone is there to help me take over the world. Then I would invite my twin in and divide up territories of the world to conquer.

    2. What if it was a double of a loved one?
That depends on which loved one we’re talking about. Life gets tricky if you’re dealing with someone who looks exactly like someone you thought you would marry. But if we’re talking about a Doctor Who series four type of clone situation where the dude would stick around while the original jets off, well then that would be awesome.

    3. What’s the one thing you would do with a clone?
The temptation to mess with other people’s heads would be great. I knew a set of identical twins who sometimes switched for their own amusements. I could tell them apart though.

    • 1. From the few times I’ve played Risk, I can tell you that dividing a map for conquest always ends with somebody putting a giant baseball player on Europe.

      2. Probably the first option. The other sounds like the clone is left with none of the loved ones being aware of the swap.

      3. Pranks are all fun and games until somebody calls the men in white coats.

  4. What would you do if you opened the door and saw another you standing there? I would invite the poor soul in and give them a drink.
What if it was a double of a loved one? I would think it was the loved one until the loved one showed up and then both the loved one and I would freak out. (totally)
What’s the one thing you would do with a clone? Since I’m no longer working, I can’t say send him into work. I guess I would put the clone in the closet until it was time for a funeral or neighborhood party.

    1. Accidentally poke him in the face checking to see if it’s a mirror.
    2. Depends on whether they were trying to impersonate the original. If they were, the classic “ask a question only they would know” bit; otherwise, give them a nickname.
    3. I don’t know. I think too much to see any of the obvious answers as a good idea.

  7. 1. Start praying that I didn’t have a Back to the Future gig going on, which would either cause a major imbalance in the time continuum or cancel one of us out!
    2. My thought immediately went to my Dad, which made me too sad, and I’m sure you can guess the answer. Him or not…I’d give him a hug to start.
    3. A clone of me…I don’t think I’d invite them in…I’m not sure I could do that to my children ;-D
