(This is from Book 11, so it’s entirely unedited and won’t be out until mid/late 2016. Figure it’ll be a fun comparison to last week’s.)

“I’m going to take care of the trolls.”
Sari drops to the ground when one of the massive beasts is sent flying over her head and into the jungle. Rolling away from the returning monster, she sees the other one is wrestling with a figure that is blocked by its hulking form. The gypsy expects it to be Timoran, but notices him across the river with Delvin, Luke, and the rescued children. When she picks Dariana out of the crowd, Sari finds herself confused on who else could have the strength to physically battle a pair of trolls.
The answer is revealed when Nyx lifts the monster over her head, the caster’s body pulsing with crimson energy. Her muscles are enhanced beyond their limits and a magic-induced rage has blinded her to the fact that the enchanted shields are no longer a threat. The half-elf tears the troll in half and leaves it to regenerate while sprinting for her other enemy. Nyx slams her shoulder into the beast’s stomach, the matted hair acting as armor. She flips the monster over her head and whirls around stomp on its heads, every blow switching from one long-nosed face to the other. When the previously injured troll reattaches its two halves, it roars at the woman and burrows into the earth. Before it can attack from below, Nyx charges and drives her hand into the dirt. She yanks the terrified predator to the surface and delivers a wild haymaker that sends it into the trees. Turning back to the other troll, she finds that it has already retreated to the jungle. The half-elf moves to follow the beasts, but stops when Sari puts a gentle hand on her shoulder.
“I think you’ve made your point,” the gypsy whispers with a smirk. She nods her head toward Delvin, whose face has gone pale as he inches behind Timoran. “Guess somebody is going to think twice before angering you. Zohara got a good look at your full power too. This is victory on several fronts for you.”
Still controlled by her rage, Nyx grabs Sari by the neck and lifts her into the air. A guttural growl slips from the caster’s mouth as her friend flails in her grasp.
Wooo!!! Now that’s a teaser!!! Nyx, Nyx, Nyx!!! This is the downside of being controlled by rage. 😀 But how exciting!

The real question is what pushed her that far. She’s been angry before, but this is a fairly new level.

That was certainly the question in my mind, along with what’s going to happen to Sari. And now we have to wait till the book is released!

Too bad this is Book 11. Long time before that one. Should find something of 8 to put out at some point.

Much intrigue here. Very nice. I like the artwork too.

It’s actually a zoom in on the cover of Prodigy of Rainbow Tower. Only way to show that she has her violet eyes in the picture. The scene definitely has a lot leading up to it and some curious aftermath.

It’s a very intriguing combination of art and teaser. It would make me want to buy it if I was farther along in the series.

Well, this book won’t be out for a while. In fact, I’m still writing it now. If I stay on schedule Book 11 will be next Summer/Fall. Guess everyone will be happy when I stop publishing the books and give a chance to catch up.

No! Keep going as long as it intrigues you. I will read more of them, but I tend to mix things up. I go from genre to genre, and author to author. I’ll bet there are more like me. My wife power reads series she likes, then complains when the next book isn’t ready. You’ll never make everyone happy, but you can make Charles happy.

True. Though this series will end eventually. Aiming for the last book to be out in December 2017, which seems like a long ways off. Yet I feel it’ll come quicker than expected and I’ll be left wondering what to do next.

I understand that. I need to get it in gear if I’m going to start something new by Fall. It always sneaks up on me faster than I expected. I’m sure you experience it the same way. “Where did that time go?”

Definitely. Especially when I’m trying to prep a new series. Once ‘Legends’ is done, I’m not going to have any outlines ready for another book. I have other things, but nothing to the level of detail as the current series. I might take a few months to build up the future stuff before tackling another project. Might be good for me to stay in creation mode for a bit.

Terrific. I certainly hope Nyx gets control of her rage. Sari needs to breath.

Yeah. Sari has a lot of tricks, but holding her breath for a while isn’t one of her skills.

That was awesome, Charles. I absolutely loved it! I was afraid of those trolls, especially as they regenerate, but with Nyx on my side I would feel as ‘safe as houses!’ 😀

More or less. She can be a hazard in her own right as seen at the end. 🙂

I’ll take my chances against her temper. I’ll think of the adventures I’ll be taking with your wonderful characters 😉

Have fun with them. Though you might want to rethink the temper thing. Nyx has actually mellowed a bit since her rather explosive debut. 🙂

I just had to share this teaser from Charles Yallowitz’ current work in progress. The action sequence is breath-taking – the imagery is just wonderful. Enjoy! 😀
