So a few things before I’m dragged away by the little guy. Friendly’s closed early on Christmas Eve and we didn’t make it. So I promised to treat him to a father/son lunch today. Apparently that still doesn’t earn me any writing time and the kid has given up on movies. The notes:
- I can’t make posts from the WordPress app. Dang it.
- The Twitter app does not acknowledged ‘Pinned Posts’. If you keep a post pinned and do a lot of retweet then anyone on their phone has to scroll through the new stuff to get to the one non-retweet.
- Writing during the summer and any breaks does not look possible. At least getting anything more than a chapter section here and there at night. Even when someone is around to watch the little guy, I have to take the morning shift and that leaves me with an afternoon of catch up. There’s also the fact that the lack of a working area leaves me defenseless if the son escapes his handlers and goes in search of me. It seems to happen a lot.
- The new book is selling very well, but the ranking is plummeting. Looks like #33 on the Fantasy Action Adventure will be the highest point. I have no idea why this is, but I’m guessing it’s because other books are selling more than me. So I’m doing very well, but not in comparison to Game of Thrones, Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, Princess Bride, etc. I’m still scratching my head at a bunch of sci-fi sitting on the fantasy lists, but there’s fantasy on the sci-fi lists too. Guess that makes things even.
- Looking forward to a day away from the computer tomorrow. Just the morning and evening, but I might just settle in for writing once the big event is over.
- Book 9 is looking to clear out a lot of character conflicts, so I’m seeing a lot of arguments cropping up in the beginning. It’s odd that every 3rd book I write tends to focus more on character evolution and relationships. Happened with ‘Allure of the Gypsies‘ and ‘Curse of the Dark Wind‘.
Hope everyone had a fun holiday and are gearing up for an exciting end to 2014.

Having reached the part in GypsieS where Luke needs to concentrate on an alternative form I am convinced that my fan fiction scenario would work. (Luke in present-day thriller). I think I will send you a short story and then this could be the start of other authors doing some fan fiction. (to be published on your site) I see the romance and horror folks having a bunch of fun. Might also take up the posting slack.

Interesting. I’m very curious now.

The difficulty Luke had getting control of the Sword Dragon led me to the point that in a new environment he would have to learn to adapt. I think the Griffen will come in handy. This time around I think NYX will come with him. It seems they have no idea where they are and happen to have landed in NYC in an alley where a bunch of bums are shooting up. You can imagine how those guys will take to strangers (Luke and NYX) especially dressed the way they are.

I sense Nyx will be getting into trouble. Also this might reveal the only secret I’ve managed to keep off my blog. 😉

See how it looks. Will come over by e-mail when done.

I hope you are able to get back into the writing rhythm with your personal schedule soon. I hate when “life” becomes so crazy that it’s a battle to find time to write.

I hope so too. There’s no way to keep my son distracted for very long now that he refuses to watch movies. Summer is going to be a real headache.

My two youngest are the same way. Too bad we don’t live nearby. He could hang out with my kiddos. The older ones would keep an eye on him ;-).

That’s hard to tell. He is very attached and his development dealts kind of force one of us to always be in earshot.

Love that -escapes his handlers -like a monkey in a zoo!😊 I also get nothing done when my schedule is out of whack.

He is definitely a little monkey. 😀

Rankings seem to get stranger by the day. The one ranking that is fairly predictable for me is the author rank.

I don’t have one of those. At least I don’t know where it is.

(Have to check Author Central for it.)
