I recently finished reading Power of Six by Nicholas C. Rossis. This is a collection of science-fiction short stories and the glowing review speaks for itself. Check out Nicholas’s blog here too.
Every one of these stories was well-written and gripped me. I usually have one or two stories in a collection that I can point at as weak links, but there wasn’t anything here to even nitpick about. Characters were interesting in the short time you know them, the stories had fun surprises, and the writing was clear. One thing I really loved is that most of the stories are told in a First Person POV, which helped with the immersion. I wasn’t just seeing fictional events unfold for a character, but getting their thoughts as they went through the adventure and made life-altering decisions. I think the author really hit the nail on the head here, especially since the tales were so simple. No confusing fictional jargon to make it more scientific. It was straight, easily understood fun in every story.
Would highly recommend.
This is on my TBR – maybe I should try and get to it sooner rather than later

It’s definitely something that could be read in a day or 2 nights. 🙂
