This is for Belinda of Busy Mind Thinking. The request is to post pictures of where we live in a travel tour type of thing. East Meadow is rather boring and is a suburb of NYC, but I’m not much of a city rat. I’ll do my best here to show some pictures around the area of any fun stuff:
First is Eisenhower Park, which spans a few towns. It has a large golf course, but most of it is wide areas to play sports and relax. Mini-golf is around there too.
We are in easy driving distance of Jones Beach too.
Sadly, that’s all I can think about for tourists. The big thing is being able to take a train into NYC and not have to pay NYC hotel prices. There are a vast amount of wineries, aquariums, zoos, and other things scattered about. Again, my area is more of a hub unless you get tickets to here:

Charles, these are amazing! What’s more amazing is that you made time to post these. I know how busy you are with your books and yet, you did this. I am again moved to tears. I can revisit these posts as often as I wish and there’s no way to convey the meaning it gives my life. Huge hugs. You are really someone wonderful and I am thankful for your friendship.

You’re welcome. Glad to give you a look at this boring little town. Now you don’t have to waste airfare on it. 😉

Have you met Charles? He is an accomplished writer and has books in publication. In the midst of his busy schedule he made time to do this post. Does that not speak to his character?! You are a blessing Charles and I am thankful to call you friend.

Well, at least you did post pictures of your world 🙂 I live in suburbia too and thought about posting some pictures for Belinda, but I have the same problem as you: I can’t get excited about where Iive. We don’t even have an Eisenhower Park or a Jones Beach, so you best me on that. Besides I’m still preoccupied with my kitchen 😉

I guess I’m lucky there. There’s nothing big in the area?

We do have a wildlife refuge and a lot of national forest around, just not in the immediate vicinity. Actually, if it weren’t for the 24/7 mosquitoes, ticks, and chiggers, I’d be snapping pictures all day long. The city’s idea of a park can be something as simple as a strip of greenway between two intersections.

I cheated and got the pics off Yahoo.

Ha! Ha! Yeah, I should do that. Other people’s photos are usually much better than mine 😉

Yup. Though I didn’t include the County Jail next to the County Hospital and across the street from a high school. Fun times. 🙂
