First, I have no idea how the Amazon list rankings work. Bestiary hasn’t sold more than 10 copies overall and it’s 62 in its category. This makes the confusion of Beginning of a Hero even worse:
Amazon Best Sellers Rank: #61,579 Paid in Kindle Store
That is the US site and I’m still plummeting.
Amazon Bestsellers Rank: #11,098 Paid in Kindle Store
That is the UK site and I’m selling there.
So, I’m really wondering if I’m living in the wrong country or at least focusing on the wrong one. Might have to look into how UK pizza is.

Yup, you ARE in the wrong country. today is Canada Day read 86 reasons why Canada is better than the U.S.- tongue in cheek of course- http://themotherofnine9.wordpress.com/2013/06/25/why-it-is-better-to-be-a-canadian/

Eh, I’ll just assume it deals with hockey, socialized healthcare, maple syrup, moose, and beaver tails. 😛

ahh..but much ,much more- how do you know about beaver tails smoothered in maple syrup, eh?

Took a family trip through Canada for 2 weeks. Stopped in Ottawa and was introduced to beaver tails. Had lemon juice and sugar on mine because I was starting every morning with maple syrup drenched french toast.

How do you do a reverse snort? I’ve accidentally snorted cherry coke when I tried to drink from the glass too quickly.

It is when you go to sneeze or something and suck something up through a nostril.

I’ve done that with pool water. You win in the reverse snort category.

I have a few books that tend to sell better in the UK than in the US. What’s really fascinating is one month one of my books sold better in Japan than anywhere else (hasn’t repeated though).
The great thing is that we LOVE readers regardless of where they live. 🙂

That we do. Though, I sometimes wondering if some regions respect certain authors more than others. Probably just my imagination.

On your other comments: Canada is the best! and really… sometimes when I read the comments between you and Ionia I think to myself, ‘what the HELL am I reading?’ This was one of those times.

It’s the differing site. Go to the bottom of the main Amazon page and you’ll see a listing of the region sites.

99% of my sales have come in the U.S., with only a random sale every now and then in other countries.

Most of my sales are the U.S., but I’ve noticed that my sales are more consistent in the U.K. If that makes any sense. Right now, my book is sitting there and waiting for a new surge. Tempted to use my last two free days to attempt a boost, but last time didn’t work in my favor.

Did you ever get into ereadernewstoday?

Not yet. That payment thing has me iffy. I keep meaning to look into it more. My plan was to start it on ereadernewstoday once I had the sequel’s cover art locked down. I signed up and everything.
How does that payment work? Do you send a check or do they take it out automatically?
LikeLike
They send an invoice. I paid through PayPal. I think it’s 25% of sales for the day you’re featured and the next day. I made about $170 over those two days and they billed me for slightly less than $40. That you pay a percentage based on sales makes it one of the better promo sites in my opinion.

I should set myself up on there before my rating gets lower than 4.0. Guess that’s the plan for today.
I should only have to put my first book on there since that should lead people to the second. I always wonder if less advertising is needed during the second debut.

Yes. If I had done it right novel #2 would have been out when I got on the site.

I’m going to set it up now. Fingers are still crossed on debuting my sequel next week. Worse case scenario is that I give the first book a boost.
