Community Storyboard Weekly Prompt: This Old House
This old house
I remember as a child
Gutted by fire
Decorated by deviants
Storms batter its shell
Yet it still stands tall
This old house
Stories were told
Legends of death and ghosts
None with any proof
Made to keep us out
When our curiosity was young
This old house
My town’s silent specter
It holds my fears and dreams
Abandoned and unloved
Until the day I make it
My new house

Beautiful poem, I love it!

Yeah, he is Elvis. Every move he made was Elvis, hair the lot.. I LOVED him as a kid. I hate myself 🙂

I felt a wave of sadness as I read that. I guess it’s the “abandoned and unloved” part. But very evocative.

Thanks. I do feel sorry for a house like that. There’s one a block over that has foreclosure slapped on its door. It looks so sad.

A house is definitely not a home without people living within its walls.
