E-mail Replacing Reader (And Comedy)

I think I’m going to skip my reader from now on.  I told the advice of Green Embers and went for e-mail subscriptions.  The e-mail filter isn’t working perfectly, but it’s a lot easier to get through.  I think I got everyone, but I could always be wrong.  I’m sure it will fix itself as the week progresses.

Interesting part of all this.  I saw how many people are posting that vanished from my reader months ago.  Now, I won’t miss them any more.  So, sorry to those people that I disappeared on.

P.S.-  The toddler is proudly announcing that he used the potty.  For a three-year-old, this is epic and he’s strutting around the living room.

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

  1. Good on the potty champ. I find e-mail to be the most reliable

I was wondering about email vs the Reader, that is, which might be more reliable. Congrats to your little one on his accomplishment. I have a fond memory of starting to dig into Maxican rice and beans when a little girl came racing through the restaurant, shouting, “Daddy, I just made a big poopie!” Priceless.

    • Glad it wasn’t a public success. He came up to say ‘I need to potty.’ Then the comedy of me not believing him (he’s done this before), crying, going to the bathroom, and a refusal to use his potty. He demands to use the big one, which means we have to hold him while he works. Need to get a seat that goes over it.

  4. Aw well done little dude! Thats awesome, I have experienced the joys of potty training toddlers…turns out its NOT that fun after all lol. The trick is to stick with it but go slowly ie dont expect him to be dry through the night for a while yet…(he could be if so then go team! lol) let him master the potty in daylight hours first and the rest will follow when HE is ready.
Good idea on the reader/email. I am only now getting round to getting through my reader. Lately I’ve found it easier to click through everyone I follow and read their latest as there are some blogger whom post loads of photos etc through the day and it ends up swallowing other posts in the reader (readers fault not the bloggers lol) seems to be working for me 🙂 Good luck with your reading and training Charles 🙂 xB

    • Thanks. We’re letting little guy call the shots. Runs a lot smoother and no trauma. I know a few people that forced the issue and it caused the entire thing to take longer. I was doing the click through too, but this seems to be a little easier in regards to making sure I don’t miss anyone.

Congrats on the potty experience, amazing how excited you get about bodily functions when you have kids! Re. the reader vs email debate, I’m probably being a bit of a dunce but can I just clarify – you are no longer using WordPress reader to read blog posts, is that correct? Why is that? I use the reader and I have a few via email and at the moment, I tend to usually read the ones on the reader above the email ones. If you changed to email, did you have to visit each individual site and sign up for email notifications? Thanks 🙂

Aww, congrats to the little guy! That’s awesome. Cherish these moments (yes, even potty training), they go by way to quickly. I’m going to try the e-mail notifications. The reader drives me nuts. Thanks for the advice.
