I Wish My Chair Had Wheels

I forgot how time-consuming and, sadly, boring this part of the editing stage was.  I’m just doing data entry to type in the changes I made by hand.  There’s a little bit of rewriting going on as I move along, but nothing extreme.  Maybe it’s because this counts as my 4th draft work, so the novelty of the book has faded.

It doesn’t help that my mind keeps doing the ‘I can’t wait until your write this part of book 5’.  Specifically, it keeps wandering off to this scene that I can ‘The Run’.  Yes, brain, I know it’s a great Luke scene and it was even better when it played out in the game.  We’ll get to that once we’re done with this.  It’s never a good thing when my own brain has decided to turn against me.

I’ve got 390 pages left to fix up and I’m running at a 20-30 page chapter a day at best.  I’m really going to need a week of non-Legends of Windemere after this.  Probably just set myself up on the old Gamecube with Metroid Prime and take blogging breaks.  Maybe just work on my notebook or something.  This would be easier if I could spin idly in my chair, which is probably the only thing I miss from my cubicle days.

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.
