Friday Brain Mush

My brain is shot.  I slept well, but this week has just left me in a daze.  I need to muster up the energy for an Easter adventure this afternoon with the toddler.  I also need to investigate making bookmarks.  I looked for sites, but all I found was child craft instructions, which isn’t what I need.  Maybe I just need to find out if there’s such a thing as bookmark paper stock.

With Prodigy of Rainbow Tower hitting Part 10, I’m curious to find out what people think of the main characters so far.  I’m not talking only about Nyx, but Luke, Nimby, Aedyn, Fritz, Fizzle, etc.  Even the ones from the first book.  This comes off as one of those ‘How Am I Driving?’ bumper stickers on a bus, but I’m rather curious how they’re coming off.  All I hear is that people love Nimby and the dog in the first book.

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

    *SPOILERS*
I really liked Luke: he was energetic, kind, funny, and brave.
Fizzle was one of the characters I couldn’t help but liking, maybe it was his child-like attitude.
Selenia, even though I was waiting for her to become the villain, has an endearing quality that I came to respect.
Nimble, Fritz, and the priest, were loyal friends.
The heir, while a gigantic pain in the neck, came to be a person I could understand and connect with. (I was sent off to a magic academy, and am the hair to a royal position, didn’t you know that?)
Kira was clumsy, but sweet and very likable.
And of course, Stiletto was such a wonderful character, and I almost cried when I read what happened to him. (Really, the part where Luke is digging his grave was even more sorrowing than the dog’s actual death)
Overall, I think I liked all the characters except for the pompous Paladin, the Lich, and of course the hellfire elf. (And I really didn’t care for the elf girl at the very front, but she was quickly taken out of the picture anyway.)
So, where is that toll-free number I need to call to report excellent driving on the author’s part? 🙂

    • Thanks. The Paladin was fun to write. Though, the fallout from that elf girl will hit during the second book. All I’m going to say is that the chaos elves are as easy to figure out as one would think. 😉 As for the Hellfire Elf . . . I think he prefers not to be liked.

    • My wife just found that too. We just heard back from her cousin, so we have a slight chance of having a Prodigy of Rainbow Tower bookmark too. Though, the book itself might not make a debut into beginning of May after the convention.

  3. I have just published an entry with Easter Bunnies photos for kids -and adult inner child- the photos of which might be appreciated by the toddler depending how young.
I am not familiar with the characters mentioned in the entry, i am a grandma now and in delicte
health condition, so a bit behind of the new world.

    • Thanks. The little guy is 3 and just went to sleep, so I’ll have to try out your bunny photos on him tomorrow. The characters are from an epic fantasy book that I just released, so you’re not that far behind in the new world. Nice to meet you.
