Oh well, Dropped to #71 and #91 on the lists. Being up there for a bit was fun and I could always jump back up. I’ve noticed that I tend to sell more on the weekend, so I half-expected this. Though, I just realized that I was overtaken by a bunch of free ebooks, which is weird because this list says Top 100 Paid.
The way I see it, I’ll be lurking near this for a while and the debut of the sequel will put me back on. Reviews aren’t flowing in (only have 3), so that might be an issue for now. Though, I assume some of the people who bought the book will write a review.
In regards to that, I think I’m going to keep the first and second books at .99 cents until the third book debuts at $1.99. Then I’ll eventually boost the second to $1.99 and the third to $2.99 after a month of all three being out. A month after that will give the second book its final boost to $2.99 and I’ll debut books 4 through 15 at $2.99 while keeping the first at .99 cents for good. At least this is the plan I have for now.

Congratulations on your book sales, must be a great feeling.
I would be interested to know your thoughts on my last post. About Amazon offering refunds on sales should you decide to go with a publisher.

I’m about to head out for a few errands, but I’ve been hearing about that through a few sites. It’s that author whose name I forget and I was following up on that. On her site, she posted a message about Amazon admitting to the screw up or something like that. I heard that there was a Rolling Stones song involved too. Honestly, I’ve never heard of this happening before, so I think there’s more to it than I’ve been hearing. It would be a horrible practice for Amazon to do considering the book would be on the site from the new publisher and Amazon still makes money off of it.

If you rank high or low know this; you’ll always be a writer of worth regardless of where on a list you are. 🙂

Thanks. I just realized that they changed the list setup. It used to be free and paid were tabbed. Now they run side-by-side. So, Tolkien is the one that knocked me down. Knew I shouldn’t have gloated about that one.

I really like your game plan. If/when I ever get my series published, I think I’ll try and do the same pricing. To me, it seems like a great incentive to get people to buy your book. Excellent idea! And also, congrats on the sales and reviews, I know more are coming! Good luck and happy writing!

Thanks and good luck to your project. I can’t take credit for the pricing idea. Lawrence Kelter, a mystery author, has been showing me the ropes and said that he made his books .99 cents for a year to get a fanbase.

Okay, well it is still a wonderful plan! I’m not sure if this is true or not, but I heard that there are some publishers who will not accept an author who has self-published their own books. Do you know if there is any truth in that?

I’ve heard that and I wouldn’t be entirely surprised. Every publisher has his or her own hang-ups and requirements. Though, I’m not sure why they would do that. You get an author with a built-in fanbase, so it must be something on the business side that would cause them to do it.

Congrats. I@m sure you’ll find the stats go up and down. Don’t forget to enjoy the moments and let the stats take care of themselves now and again. 🙂

Thanks. I probably have another day or two of excitement before the novelty of watching them wears off.
