Well, it’s nearly that time of year again. I know October starts tomorrow, but I always use that month to post things about monsters. Since I couldn’t figure out how to put a poll on WordPress like the ancient days, I’m going to repost some Windemere monsters throughout the month. It isn’t like I have any new ones to show off yet, but maybe next year. Anyway, let’s have some fun with audience interaction:
- What is your favorite thing about October and don’t say pumpkin spice?
- What is your top October memory?
- If you could change one thing about October, what would you do?

I miss the changing colors around here. Last year, the leaves mostly just died and dropped within a weekend. It was fairly unnerving. As far as Christmas already turning up, I fully agree.

Prune donuts? I would support a longer October if it means multiple Halloweens. We basically did it with Christmas.

My grandmother was Polish. Prune doughnuts are a Polish special food.
I can think of a lot of kids who would like multiple Halloweens. I would be in it for the weather and the leaf color.

My grandfather always had prunes. They smelled funny and he explained that they made people run to the bathroom. So, I have a mental block about them.

They can do that if you have too many. But they’re actually quite tasty and a natural way to treat your GI system!

October has always been my month. It’s my birth month and I love the cooler temperatures and Fall colors. My memories are about hunting camp with parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents. I wouldn’t change it, unless I could make it longer.

We’re going into the 60’s here. Heard it’s supposed to be a brutal winter by January.

Great questions, Charles! My favorite thing about October is the cooler weather and the beautiful autumn atmosphere. Some of my fondest memories involve family gatherings and seasonal celebrations. If I could change one thing, I’d make October a little longer so we could enjoy it all! Looking forward to your Windemere monsters! 🍂🎃

Thanks. It would be nice to make October longer. Can we do it in a way that makes the daylight last longer too? 😀

as a German living in The Netherlands there are no pumpkin spices or monster nonsense. To me October is about autumn and its colors.

Pumpkin spice is ridiculous. I do like the monster and Halloween stuff. The decorations and celebrations are fun. Better than other holidays in my opinion because they’re not stuffy or filled with loud fireworks.

Halloween is typical American, over here some try but it will not be a thing. Another tradition here is Saint Martin on November 11, when children coming at the door with homemade lanterns and sing for candy.

Sounds similar. Though I don’t think lanterns would go over well here.

We get rain most years too. It’s frustrating.
