It’s World Piano Day. I didn’t know it was a thing. My parents had an organ I played with terribly and I had a keyboard that I was bad at. Still, it’s a very popular and integral instrument, so I think it deserves a holiday. (Images from Google Image Search.)
Okay. Here’s a serious and amazing one. The pianist is named Henri Herbert.
Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.
I watched him when I was a child with my parents, he still makes me laugh thanks to Instagram etc. I just looked him up. He died in 2000 but looks like he had a long life and career.
So that’s a thing is it? World Piano Day! I learned to play when I was a child and did exams up to Grade 3. At least that’s the only certificate I could find. I decided to stop taking exams when I was getting ready for my O-Levels, and after I went to Teacher Training College, I stopped for many years.
About 3 years ago I got a full sized keyboard and started playing again. It’s not like riding a bicycle or swimming. You do forget! But I decided, encouraged by my husband, to take the exams again. So I took Grade 4 and 5 and passed them both, to my surprise. I can’t take any more–Grades 6,7 and 8, as one has to have at least Grade 5 theory and I’m not prepared to do that. But I’m enjoying a ‘new’ hobby.
Very cool. I never learned piano beyond playing with an electric keyboard. Not sure why I never had an interest, especially since we always had this organ in the living room.
Legends of Windemere 
I’d forgotten how funny Victor Borge was – his routines were hysterical. And he was an excellent musician.
And the piano player playing boogie-woogie – he is incredible talented. Playing that style of music is incredibly difficult!

I only know of him because some skits showed up randomly on my Instagram feed. Not sure if he was still active when I was growing up.
