Book Promos . . . Trying to Laugh About It

Things are busy and I’m waiting until December to do the new Tuesday stuff.  So, here are some funnies on book promos I found on Google.  You know, also 3 questions:

  1. What do you like the most about promoting a book?
  2. What do you hate about promoting a book?
  3. What do you think is the most important part of promoting a book?  (My answer is having the money to do so.)

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

    1. I haven’t done much book promotion. I like talking about something I’ve written, because I want someone to read it.
    2. I’ve been very awkward at book promotion. It’s hard to know what to do to get the results needed.
    3. Getting the word out to the right venues. One of my brothers has a YouTube channel that he wanted to promote. He went to a marketing guy who told him exactly what to do. (And yes, it involved money, but not as much as I would have though.) His channel started growing by leaps and bounds. That’s the kind of information we need in book promotion—someone who knows just what to do to reach people.

  2. Anything that works is what I like the most about promoting a book

All the attempts that don’t work is what I hate about promoting a book

The most important paert oof promoting a book is to have enough money to do it consistently.

      1. What do you like the most about promoting a book? Like the writing itself, I can be creative and try to attract readers.
      2. What do you hate about promoting a book? Remembering to do it. Putting up your promos in the right places. And first, figuring out where those places are.
      3. What do you think is the most important part of promoting a book?  Having a fun promo that catches the eye.

What do I like most about promoting books? Nothing

What do I like least? Everything.

And for 3, I agree. It’s having the money.

    2. I’ve about given up on promo. I used to be pretty good at it, but money is a limiting factor these days.
