Questions 3: Ghosts and Hauntings

Coming to the end of the ghost month, I think I’ll open the floor to people.  If you don’t believe in ghosts then don’t feel obligated to answer or give a long comment about why they don’t exist.  I’ve walked into that one before and it isn’t fun.  This is all about fun.

  1. What is your favorite ghost story?
  2. Have you ever had a paranormal experience? (Think hard)
  3. If you were a ghost, what would you do?

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

  2. My favorite ghost story is the Movie Ghost

I have not had a paranormal experience.

If I were a ghost I think I would want to terrorize someone who is evil.

Anything pretty much by MR James
We had a tv that turned itself on at 3am several nights in the run
I’d rather not be a ghost. This life will be enough thanks.

    3. I’ve got nothing, but my excuse is that it’s 4:00 in the morning here. My boys once had a toy truck. It had batteries and drove itself around with flashing lights. It developed a habit of turning itself on in the middle of the night. I removed the batteries and it did it one more time before being discarded completely.

      1. What is your favorite ghost story? I like the one where the little old woman goes out walking, picks up a bone, and then gets followed by the ghost yelling “Give back my bone!” I actually used a version of it in one of my short stories.
      2. Have you ever had a paranormal experience? I have had experiences I can’t explain but I don’t know if I’d call them paranormal.
      3. If you were a ghost, what would you do? I would be a poltergeist that continually trashed the personal living spaces of certain obnoxious public figures.

      1. I’ve read loads of ghost stories but I can’t think of a particular favourite.
      2. Yes, I’ve had paranormal experiences – very scary ones!
      3. If I was a ghost I’d go snooping inside people’s houses. Whenever I walk past a house that looks interesting from the outside, I wish I could see more of it.

      1. The Turn of the Screw by Henry James.
      2. In Wales when as a teenager staying in a youth hostel, I became inexplicably afraid walking one evening. I asked a boy who had been there before if it was haunted and he said yes. My mother also saw a couple of ghosts.
      3. I’d hang around to see what my grandchildren made of their lives.
