Next Sunday Post: Any Anime Fans?

Replace ‘Mom’ with ‘Dad’ and you get my life at times.  Worst one was when he walked in on a friend and I watching one called Ikki Tousen.  Lots of fan-service there, but we got into it because it took inspiration from Romance of the Three Kingdoms.  The main character was a reincarnation of Sun Ce, who was my favorite to use in the Dynasty Warriors game.  Only it was a he in the game and not a she with breasts the size of over-inflated basketballs.  My wife still teases me about having watched this one until I remind her that she did too.

Anyway, I’ll definitely be off the virtual reservation, so I thought I’d post a bunch of music videos to entertain.  I’ve done it before with themes.  This time I wanted to post a bunch of AMV’s a.k.a. Anime Music Videos.  There are a few I want to share, but I figured I’d open the floor to anyone who has a favorite that they want me to grab something for.  Right now I only have Fairy Tail and Soul Eater.  Now, I will say that my music tastes tend to be rock and some hip hop.  Really it comes down to a fun beat.

So, feel free to give a suggestion.  I’ll be putting the post together on Tuesday.  Yes, I know this is a silly, and some might say immature, idea.  Yet, I take a lot of inspiration from these shows.  Oh, let’s try and keep the sex and gore to a severe minimum.  None of the really hardcore stuff and I’m not talking that kind of hardcore.  Well, this post just went horribly south.

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

Oh, don’t get me started on favorite animes. Having watched anime for about 20 years, I have a ton I love. I don’t do much with AMVs though. But I suppose I could mention a few shows, and you can choose whichever you want to use: Slayers. Rurouni Kenshin, Fullmetal Alchemist, Yu Yu Hakusho, Detective Conan (aka Case Closed), Fairy Tail, any Gundam, Macross, Blue Exorcist, Sword Art Online, Black Butler, Konosuba (a new favorite, very funny), Ranma 1/2, Sailor Moon, Lupin III, Hellsing…

Gospel of the Throttle by Minutes to Midnight (The opener for Drifters.) is a song I highly recommend. It’s fun. 🙂 Drifters was made by the same folks who made Hellsing.

My favorite anime so far is Beyond the Boundary (very colorful, almost satirical anime.)

And I agree with Jowens: Fullmetal Alchemist BROTHERHOOD 😀

  3. I missed something in life. I wouldn’t know a Anime from an animal. I will be interested to see how this goes.

    • I’m curious too. Anime really didn’t big until late 90’s and early 2000’s. At least it started getting out of the fringes because of the Internet. There were a few way back when like Voltron and Sailor Moon.

  4. Does all the studio Ghibli stuff count as anime? If so, take your pick. Favourites would be Totoro, Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle…
