So . . . the plan was to write all day and that got undone by 11:30. I bit into a piece of matzah since it was there and one of my teeth cracked in half. The rest of the day was spent at the dentist where I got fitted with a temp crown and am now waiting for a permanent one. My mouth is itchy and I’m hungry because that traitorous matzah was lunch. Not a good day . . .
WHICH GETS BETTER!
While doing an x-ray for the broken tooth, they found that one of my remaining wisdom teeth has a cavity in the side. They both have to go. No idea if insurance will cover that, so I’ll have to find out in 2 weeks when I go in for the crown.
AND IT GETS BETTER AGAIN!
The tooth next to the bad wisdom tooth (doesn’t seem like that wise of a body part) has gotten a cavity. Looks like it was born from the other one. Gone to the root, which means the always enjoyable ROOT CANAL. Again, insurance is a mystery here. Going to have to find out another day.
So, this is a big crimp in the ‘finish Legends of Windemere before 2017′ plan. Doesn’t do wonders for my hopeful release of Charms of the Feykin. I’m kind of out of it and really need to get some food. On the plus side, I wasn’t much of a gum chewer to begin with. Skittles, Starburst, and Laffy Taffy will be missed.

That sucks. I’ve been on a broken tooth kick for a couple of years. Now I have a chip in a front one. I’m trying to ignore it until some other issues get addressed with our medical flex account. I have to get my wife involved in that part, and she isn’t real motivated. PS: I’ve had cavities in wisdom teeth for years. They didn’t hurt, so I left them alone. Finally broke one and had it removed a couple of years ago. The state has good insurance though.

I wouldn’t have done much if the tooth didn’t break so horribly. This happened just after I published one of my books too. Settled in for a weekend of resting and celebration then my wisdom tooth cracked in two. Probably should have pushed for the two on the other side to get removed as well since those are the source of more problems.

Sorry about the tooth (teeth) problem! Some days wouldn’t it be good to be a robot with handy spare parts and fixes! Hope all works out well with the insurance! 💛 Christine Elizabeth

Insurance is being vague, so who knows what will happen. Having spare parts would be great. Especially if it means I don’t have to secretly eye blood relatives and their kidneys. 😛

Yikes! I’m sorry to hear the horrible day you had, I wish WordPress would have an Oh No! Button instead of like.
I hope everything turns out okay for you.

Me too. Two weeks with the temp crown, but I’m already getting used to it. Just hope none of the others decide to follow this tooth’s example.

Oh man, Charles, I’m so sorry about your teeth issues. That’s gotta be the worst. I went 12+ years without dental insurance and I had one issue after another. I agree with John… this is a classic Morton Moment. Sending healing thoughts your way and I hope it’s all covered via insurance. Gawd, I hate the dentist!

Thanks. I’ve been going a few years with only going during an emergency, which is apparently very common. Feels like dental insurance is treated more like a cosmetic thing that an actual need.
