I’ll start my own 3 days tomorrow, because of 9/11. It just didn’t seem right, somehow.

I thought about that, but I tend to want to keep living or whatever the mentality boils down to. Though I shy away from the TV because I’m scared to stumble onto a channel showing videos from the day. Still chilling to watch.
Unfortunately, I’ve seen fewer and fewer people acknowledge the day. Some even use it to push an anti-something agenda, which is why FB and I might not be seeing each other until tomorrow.

I was surprised by that. This year feels kinda numb. I even saw someone sign off with a “have a great 9/11,” as if it were a national holiday or something.
Still, it might be a healthy sign if that means the pain is somehow being dealt with.

I’ve seen that before. It’s so disturbing at times. You have a bunch of people who think this is a holiday or their sense of time is so distorted that it feels like ancient history. I think it’s more of the former, which makes me a little mad. Coming from NY State and only 45 minutes from NYC, I might be a bit more sensitive than someone from further away. Then again, I remember hearing someone say ‘9/11 was a New York event, so they should shut up and get over it’. Never have I wanted to commit assault so much.

Ouch. I’m halfway across the globe and still remember where I was at the time, not to mention my shock.
Still, perhaps it’s a coping mechanism. After all, all major holidays come from deeply traumatic events, come to think of it. Maybe treating it as a holiday is just people’s coping mechanism.

Thanks. Took more out of me than I realized it would. Have a parent/teacher meeting in 2 hours, so probably good to have gotten it off my chest.
