Off to the Zoo!

Red Panda at Bronx Zoo

Red Panda at Bronx Zoo

I have just enough time to go over a few blog posts and then it’s time to prepare for a big adventure.  This is the first time I’m bringing the toddler to the Bronx Zoo, which is where I loved going as a kid.  I haven’t been there in years, so this is going to be fun for me too.  I’ll probably end up being exhausted by the end of the day, so you might not hear from me again until tomorrow morning.

Here are a few bits of info I’m leaving behind:

    1. I STILL HAVE 5 SLOTS OPEN FOR THE COMPASS KEY BLOG TOUR!  AUGUST 27-31 NEED VOLUNTEERS!
    2. The Compass Key has just reached the following:

Amazon Best Sellers Rank: #7,589 Paid in Kindle Store.

Still no Top 100 List, but I’m about 35-50 ranks away from one of them.  Unfortunately, I might not see it happen today or be able to post about it unless it holds until I get home this evening.  It’ll be great if I can use a screen shot for a post or a Facebook promo, but it really depends on if I sell any copies throughout today.  Maybe I’ll get lucky and it’ll happen before we leave for the zoo.

That’s really it.  Hope everyone has a great day.  Also a fellow author is debuting a book tomorrow so go wish Elaine Jeremiah good luck.  I’m off to see the red pandas.

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

    • So many kinds of monkeys. Sadly, the gibbons were hiding. The baby gorilla was adorable though. Fun seeing the mother do things with the baby that my wife and I do with the toddler.

      • That would be a great time to visit the zoo (not the gibbons part). So, do any animals have magic powers in Windemere?

      • There are magical beasts and strange creatures. Drites can cast spells and griffins can manipulate wind to go faster. That’s really it so far. The animals we know of today don’t have the capacity to focus their aura for actual spells. Rarely would one be able to instinctively make itself invisible, enhance a sense, or set off a survival spell. It would only be in times of desperation and sheer terror, which still has a slim chance.
