I’m back from the wedding of the year, which was a blast. I’d tell people the details, but it wasn’t my wedding and you really had to be there.
With that, I need to figure out what my goals for this week are going to be.
- I’m trying for 2 chapters of Legends of Windemere: The Compass Key again since I did it last week. I lose half of Wednesday, but it’s for a good cause.
- Redo the outline for Legends of Windemere: Curse of the Dark Wind (Book 6) to include more Fizzle and fix some issues.
- Read something. For the love of god, I need to read something.
- Set up credit union account for royalties.
- Make enemies/lose followers with another pricing post tomorrow after noticing something since I dropped Legends of Windemere: Beginning of a Hero to .99 cents again.
- Special project.
- Touch The Slumber Lord set up. Not even write anything. Just touch the notebook and get that layer of dust off it.
- Make another goal list a week from today.
- Watch Futurama final season premiere. Hey! Don’t judge me!
That’s about it. The problem I keep having is that I focus on the chapter goals and the rest fall by the wayside. Need to find a way around that.
Glad you had a good weekend

did you buy yogurt, get a hair cut, and get the car checked from last week’s list?
Happy Father’s Day, Charles.

Now I’ve really gotta make sure I get stuff done.

Oh! I’ll only check up on the non-writing parts. You seem to have to writing parts under control.

Those others are the easier parts. Reading is the one I falter on the most though.

Nicely done Charles! And just focus on the story, not so much on the word count.
(hmm, am I the only one who is really curious about the wedding?) 🙂
LikeLike
I never pay attention to word count. I go for chapter sections per day since I typically have the time.
The wedding was fun and traditional. Although, each groomsman had a superhero shirt on under the tuxedo. That was the unique part.

O I love that! Superhero’s on a wedding, that is fun! 🙂
Yeah, I don’t keep goals in my writing at all. Lol. I don’t work with schedules or restrictions, I just write and can’t stop. Yes, I am a strange writer, but it seems to work though! 🙂

I used to be like that, but I don’t have the luxury any more. I have to fight for writing time these days.

Well, to be honest, I do too. Luckily I have a major sleeping problem! 😉
And I don’t have kids, but I do have a lot of teenagers that are roaming around my house anyways. 🙂

You should put some traps out for the teenagers. Pizza makes good bait.

I know! They ate them all! 🙂
Keep kicking them out, they just keep coming back!
O, well. I do love them and they know they are always welcome. Maybe I shouldn’t have mentioned that? 🙂

Yeah. That will draw more in. Maybe math tests will scare some of them off. 😛

HAHAHAHA sounds a lot like my list! Love the need to read something and removing the layer of dust from the notebook, both of which are on my list. Hope you have a very productive week! 🙂

I hope so too. I have another series of weeks where I don’t get a full 5 days to work on my books. My main goal is to finish my 5th book by the end of first week of August. That way I can do editing when my son is home from school for the rest of the month.

My last few weeks have had my attention torn between multiple projects, my goal this week is to do nothing but write on two different future projects so we will see how it goes! Hoping to clear some of my “Read and Review” projects as well so I can get started on your book! 🙂
Hope you get it finished in time for your schedule, I am sure its going to be amazing!

Same here, we have our Family Reunion on my husband’s side as well as my husband’s and step son’s birthday so in between that I am hoping to steal away to the office as much as possible!
Woot Woot 8 chapters! Congrats!

I have a dining room chair instead of an office . . . I’m doomed. 😀

LOL I write in the dinning room sometimes, but usually it leads to my black lab slobbering on my papers because he thinks if I am at the table I must be eating hahaha. As for being doomed, we are getting a pool installed this week….now that will truly be a distraction! 🙂

Somebody should invent waterproof laptops and notebooks. Just float and write.

Yes. Though, the outline for the 6th book takes a close second while it’s fresh in my mind.

I love your lists Charles. They are always so entertaining like the rest of your blog. I need to take a cue from you and start writing one down to keep myself accountable. I’m curious…what superhero shirt were you wearing under your tux?

I should probably take a chapter out of your book (hahaha) here and start making up a structured goal list for every week, to try and keep myself on track. I hope it actually works for you. I’m questioning on whether or not it would do anything at all for me, or if – at the end of the week – it would just be a list of things I didn’t get done.
I LOVED #7!

It does help with focus, but I overshoot my goals. I forget to factor in that there are other people in the house. I’m trying to take the ‘be happy with half completion’ route these days.
For example, I’ve barely touched my book and that’s going to cost me that first goal. I did get #7 done since I had to move it for something.
