Bitter Sweet Symphony by The Verve

I thought I posted this one before, but apparently I never have.  Something about this song always drew me in.  I could never tell if it was a sad or hopeful song either, but that might have been part of the point.  In the end, it’s still a song that I drop everything to listen to or go hunting for on my iPod.

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

I was Pissed when the Rolling Stones crushed this group just becasue of a small sound bite to a song that I had never heard of. I can understand the whole ‘sampling’ thing, but seriously to kill a promising group over it – [explitive deleted]

  5. wow – I didn’t know that about the stones and the verve. that is very sad – a bittersweet symphony indeed, that such a beautiful song was fought over, particularly by a band who hardly needed the money. I agree, Charles, that this song is somehow melancholy, yet uplifting at the same time – like thinking of a memory – as soon as I hear it, it always makes me smile.

  6. Love this song – it was really popular the first year I moved to Ireland (And it’s on the company music system right now… freaky!)
