I’ve been to a few conventions in the past for comics, anime, and all-around nerd stuff. In fact, the renaissance shirt I wore at my wedding was from a convention because the original was back-ordered indefinitely. Honestly, the groom, bride, and groomsmen clothes were the hardest part of the wedding. That’s a story for another time if enough people are interested in the comical chaos.
I’ve always walked away from a convention with cheap DVD’s, free posters, free magnets, free stickers, a few cheap books, and some new medieval weapon. So, I find myself preparing to be on the other side of the ‘vendor’ table during the last week of April. It isn’t a big convention, so I’ve been told 100 free CD’s should suffice. This is a rough undertaking for me. The book is 2MB and it will be the only thing on a CD. I have to create a jewel case insert, a CD label, and figure out what to do if I run out. It’s been suggested that I take email addresses to send a PDF to those that still want or to simply close up shop when the supply runs out.
I’m wondering about this because my goal for tomorrow is to get the CD’s made and, possibly, the jewel cases. It shouldn’t be that hard, but 100 CD’s doesn’t really look like much. Also, I’m still playing with the idea of finding a way to make stickers. So far, everything has been too much for me and that basically means anything over 100 bucks. I considered using large labels to make cheap stickers with the logo, but I’m not sure if that would be too cheap or not.
This is the fun of building your own convention swag.
