I couldn’t pass this one up. While my son isn’t into Lego as much as he used to thanks to Pokemon becoming his big obsession, I still enjoy them. I think I’m always going to try to buy one big set a year just for the challenge and fun. Last year was the following:

I’ve done a few smaller ones since Lego Rivendell and I’ve heard that they’re releasing Sauron’s Tower this year. I’m torn between that one the the Dungeons & Dragons 50 year anniversary set. Maybe I’ll be able to get both if things work out around my birthday with gift cards. Anyway, I’m still putting them together when I have the money and time to spend. Does anyone else still do Lego sets or have one special set that would make them go back even just for the one?
Here’s a few other pictures.

Those look like a good way to shift gears for a while.

Unfortunately those are from many years ago. Think my son was 7 or 8 at most.

I noticed that in the photos. Maybe it’s time for a shopping trip.

I love Lego and so do most of my family. My middle grandson, eight is obsessed, all conversations come back to Lego. He likes creating his own things, he also loves the expensive sets and collecting classic mini figures. My daughter-in-law has every Harry Potter Lego set while my other daughter-in-law is into ‘Friends’ Lego.

My son loves them. I think. He has a bunch of undone Mario sets, but never has time to do them.

These all look fantastic , Charles! We have a small collection, but my son likewise lost interest when he was around 10y old. I still love getting some smaller sets occasionally and building them, while my son enjoys more making his own creations from just the big bundles of Lego parts. Still, I think Lego is a beautiful way to channel creativity!

Thanks. I wish I had more space for sets.

I’ll have to see if my kid will let me into their Lego tub for a while today.

Legos are THE best toy, besides wooden blocks. I’ve been using them in school for decades, and they’re groundbreaking for inspiring future engineers. Boston Dynamics robot engineers told the children it all started with Legos for them. Yes, Happy Lego Day! Loved the photos!

My son used to do Lego Robotics in middle school. Shame they don’t have it in high school.

They do in our public high school (the robotics club often uses Legos) and at the public library. Yes, every high school should have this.
