So, I’m using this month to get a few things started and other things finished. Also, I need some time to formulate more types of Tuesday posts and other topics. Not to mention the ‘life event’ is still going on and no idea when it will finish. In other words, I’m going to be doing ‘Questions 3’ for the January Fridays. Enjoy!
- What was the best part of 2023?
- What is one part of 2023 that you would change?
- Describe 2023 in one word.

1. A picture book a friend and I wrote together was bought by a publisher. No idea yet when the book will be released.
2. I wish I’d written more, instead of giving up due to rejections received.
3. Over.

What was the best part of 2023?
Finishing my series, Minstrels of Skaythe, and publishing it.
What is one part of 2023 that you would change?
This is hard, because 2023 brought me some hard knocks. If I had to choose, it would be that my teacher hadn’t quit and left our program in disarray.

OMG. (That’s one word, right?)

1. Finally going on a vacation when I haven’t been on one for 6 years.
2. I’d try to give the riot act to some former co-workers and supervisors in a place I used to work instead of being silent even though I was surprised that my ex-boss would miss me and wished me well when I handed my 2 weeks in.

Congrats on the vacation. Been through a vacation dry spell before and it’s surprisingly depressing.

Thanks! It was well needed when it happened. I never realized how much stress I had at that time until after I got back. An alternate one for question 2 is not writing and publishing any fiction.

1. The six or seven weeks when it actually didn’t rain.
2. I seemed to waste a lot of time in pointless scrolling on social media. I wish I’d used it more profitably.

It’s amazing how much we scroll on social media without realizing it. Though I feel like I did so when I already lacked motivation to do more.

Yes, it;s something I tend to do when I can’t quite summon up the effort to do something more constructive.

My best part of 2023 was the road trip with my daughter. Memories to last a lifetime. The worst part was leaving her in New Hampshire at the end and flying home alone. I had a decent writing year, but that was the high point for me. My one word description is hectic.

Sounds very bittersweet with the trip and coming home. Hope you get to see her soon.

The best part of 2023 was seeing Twiggy fully recover from her surgery. The one part of 2023 that I would change is that she got injured in the first place.
