Future of Windemere

I’ve been considering this post for a while, but it seems I have very little choice. I know this is one of the best times to release a book.  Especially if one has a series and things slowed down in November.   So . . .

I got nothing.

Until I hear otherwise, I’ve got no idea when I’ll release another book.  I don’t want to say when it could be or what I hope for.  Right now, I’m simply trying to figure out what to do about everything.  I might use January to hype The Mercenary Prince and Crossing Bedlams in tandem even though I don’t have any ideas on release dates.  The two books have very little . . . nothing in common.  Maybe one day will be fantasy and the other will be post-apocalyptic action buddy comedy.  Friday can just be one of the few other topics I have.

This also means I can’t plan a cover reveal or blog tour.  I might just do a ‘BOOK IS LIVE!’ post like before.  A problem that went wrong before with getting volunteers too early was that about 25% of the list forgot.  Still, I guess I have nothing to lose here:

  1. Any volunteers for future group posts for Crossing Bedlam and Mercenary Prince?
  2. Would it be stupid to release both books at the same time if the timing turns that way or should I delay one?

Trying to feel like I’m making progress, but it’s not easy or really possible.  Never fun being in stasis, especially when you see others releasing books and continuing on.  Hope everyone enjoys their weekend.  Not 100% certain I’ll be around.

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

  1. You know I’ll help with anything you need. My project is delayed too, and I know how you feel. I get stifled, because I want to move to the next thing, but my mind won’t let me. I have to multi-task at work. I don’t like multi-tasking, and refuse to do it on my leisure time. As far a releases go, I would think separating them by a month would keep you in the spotlight longer. Pushing Notebook for a month… then Wisp for a month accomplished a lot. I think releases could work the same way.

  3. I will help and won’t forget. I would do separate releases. People can’t handle a lot of confusion.

I’m always up for hyping one of your releases. And I agree with John – separate releases.

  6. You can count me in 🙂 I know plenty of authors who’ve released close together and I don’t see that as a bad thing. But you have to go with your gut.

  9. Not having been in the situation, I guess I’d ask if you can advertise MP and CB together? Ie: “You don’t like high fantasy but maybe here’s this urban fantasy.” I guess it could be a way for you to be thrifty.

I wish you the best with all your future projects. My goodness, you’ll love all the free time on your hands once your series is done. But then you’ll also have all this time to think about your future work, too. So, enjoy!
