So, I’m setting up a Goodreads Giveaway where the winner gets 1 paperback of each of the 3 Legends of Windemere books. It’s set to start on Sunday, but I ran into a problem.
I can’t get the Giveaway Widget to work on my blog. The URL Widget that I used once before is no longer there. Does anybody know how to set this thing up on what appears to be the new WordPress system?
About Charles Yallowitz
Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.
Damned if I know. WordPress confuses the heck out of me. The poor man’s solution is to do what I did, and stick an image of the Goodreads logo in the sidebar, where clicking it takes you to the giveaway. Not ideal, but something you could use in the meantime while you figure out how to make the widget work?

I might try that. I got the widget to work using the ‘Text’ one. The problem is that it shot all of the other widgets to the bottom of the page. My page shows old posts as you scroll down, so you can never get to the widgets if I kept it. I’ll have to play with it some more.

Now I’m curious. Going to look at it later today when I get a chance. 🙂

I used the ‘Text’ part, but something in the code shoved all the other widgets into oblivion. Might have to do with my theme.
