For anyone that has e-mailed me, my Yahoo account has been blocked. If I can get in, I’ll try to salvage things. But I can’t get in.

About Charles Yallowitz
Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.
I hate Yahoo anyway. It’s spam blocker sucks. Much prefer gmail.

I used to work at Yahoo. Did they block you or is the mail program just not working?

It said that I needed to resubmit my password. I did that and then it hit me with a security question from 2009. I failed and it’s blocked. Just made a gmail account and switched everything over.

Oh man sorry that happened. They do have other questions they can ask you if you forget your security questions. Gmail is good too.. I use both yahoo and gmail for different things and it seems to be a good balance for me.

I had already failed the question 3 times, which locks the account.

Oh good grief, Charles! That’s dreadful. I only have a Yahoo account for cases like joining online forums, etc – like wordpress. The email I use is gmail. Hope you can get this worked out!

Trying to get gmail to work, but it’s a bigger learning curve than expected.

Yahoo is awful. I still use it as my main account – but only because it seems such a pain to change after years of using it.

I was fine with Yahoo until this most recent change that made no sense. I can’t do anything about it now. Gmail is where I go.

I ended up having to change from Yahoo to Gmail myself, for much the same reason. It’s a shame, because Gmail has no way to sort messages except by creating folders, which makes it damned difficult to locate a specific email.

I’m running into that problem now. The filtering doesn’t even seem to work. It put everything into one folder instead of sorting it. I guess a plus side here is all of those spam e-mails I was getting are going to go away.

Ugh! I hate having problems with email and loathe switching email carriers, guess I just don’t like change, lol. Hope you get it all figured out!!!

It’s going to be a slow recovery. I don’t remember a lot of my e-mail addresses, so I’ll have to gather them again. All pictures and files that I had in my old e-mail account are lost too.

Oh that’s terrible! Which reminds me….I should back up and save some of my things! I would be just as lost, I don’t know people’s phone numbers let alone their emails! 😦

I’m glad I saved most of the pictures on here.

Yes that is a good thing! I try to save pictures immediately, but I know there are files I have neglected to do that with…~adds that to list~ 🙂

That sucks … I had the same problem not too long ago. My primary account is Gmail, but I maintained a Yahoo account for other stuff (frankly as a way to divert spam). Still, that account went back a number of years and now those emails and contacts are simply lost.

Gmail is my new home. I have noticed that the spam and unwanted stuff is no longer a problem. That is nice.

Yes, I do think Gmail is much better at catching spam. I don’t like everything about it, but it’s been fairly stable for the last several years. Good luck with it 🙂

I hope I can master it by the end of the week.
