Let’s say you’re jazzed up about being an author and writing your first book. But there’s this little problem. You don’t quite know what you want to write. That’s right. Before you even put those first words down on paper, you’re tying yourself up in knots.

Well … what do you like to read? Mysteries? Science fiction? Biographies? Memoirs? You know, what you enjoy reading might be a good barometer into what you should be writing.

What are some of the books and stories that have moved, inspired or just plain entertained you? Perhaps you spend all your spare time reading romance novels, and you’ve kicked around the idea of writing one too. Why not take the plunge?
