I admit that I liked this song as a kid, forgot it, and fell in love with it again when I started watching Supernatural. It’s an oddly relaxing song to me and has an odd mental cleansing effect on me.

Super mega thanks! I was trying to find a song my Little M and the other little one I’m watching could listen to without moaning… this worked a treat! 😀

I once went on a date with a guy who sang the first few bars of this song to me because he was absolutely sure I *must* know who Kansas (the band, not just the state) is and I only needed to hear this song in order to recognize the band . . .(and yes, I did blog about it)
Isn’t this song about dying? Or am I just morbid?

I’ve never been that obsessed with a band. Though, I come close with Queen.
I have to admit that I rarely delve into the lyrics, but I do think it has something to do with dying. The opening reminds me of Icarus in a way. Mostly, I always thought of it as a song about working hard and continuing to push forward until you reach your goals. Then comes that lay your weary head to rest part. Eh, it probably is about dying, which is why Supernatural uses it all the time.
