    Good Format. I just finished GypsieS and don’t really have a question right now. I really enjoyed getting to know the characters and am looking forward to the next. I’ll come back when I have a question.

    Hey Charles~~You’re the best, man. I’ve got a Wattpad story I’m about ready to wrap up which currently has 100,000 reads. Seems it’s resonating with a lot of women in the romance genre. I’m a guy and write it under a female pen name. Will that present a problem if I shift over to KDP? (I plan on keeping the pseudonym). I already have a paper book available through Amazon’s Advantage program. Would I then need to set up a new account with Amazon? Lastly–(sorry). I am a USA citizen living permanently in Greece (but maintain an American bank account). Can I still call myself a USA Contributor?

      I don’t know much about pen names, but I don’t believe that should be a problem. You’re bound to have some people that whine about you using a female name, but they’ll only be a vocal minority.

      I don’t know about about the Amazon Advantage program or the contributor status. You would have to contact them about the former. As for the latter, I don’t really know what the pro or con of that would be. I’d need to learn more about that.

    I don’t generally read any book series unless it’s complete. This is after waiting 5 years between books 4 and 5 of the Game of Throne novels. Basically, how many books are you planning for the Windemere series? it looks really good and has lots of positive reviews so I’m definitely interested but don’t want to start if you’ve got another 5 or so books to come!

    thank you for the likes on my blogs. It sounds you are an experienced author(I’m so glad to drop by). Now that you provide such a great platform. As a “Question Girl” as I am still, I’d love to ask a big question:

    How do you think of the market of paperback publishing and ebook like amazon?

    (Personally, I think too many rubbish on Amazon. So I am struggling to find an agent to publish my first English novel. And some of my writer friends don’t care. They just put whatever on Amazon, once they finish any works. I really don’t like that. I want to be serious. Really serious.)

      I’ll try to make a more thorough post to go up next month, but I can give you a basic thought on it. There is plenty of rubbish on Amazon, but there are many gems in there too. When you have an open, do-it-yourself platform then you’re going to have a wide variety of authors there. Some take the trade seriously while others are in it to make a quick buck. I would fall into the same category as your friends with putting my books on Amazon after I finish the writing, editing, and get a cover. This is after spending over a decade submitting to publishing companies and agents to be constantly rejected. Rarely got a reason and many times I was told it was because I didn’t come with a reputation.

      Keep in mind that many established authors are using the Amazon platform now. The landscape is changing and people are starting to take indie authors seriously. There will always be rubbish even in the paperback market. eBook just needs to reach the stage where it has more good than bad, which I think it’s been at for a while.

        Really appreciate it, Charles! I’ve contacted total 12 agents, 8 replies nicely yet rejected, 1 no reply and 3 are waiting for response. My aim is to get published on paperback then ebook. I guess I would stick to 3 years so. But you know things would change more quickly than the plan. So will see after 2018. I don’t think a decade is my fucking time… I’ve just followed you back. So I look forward to your new project. If I’m busy at something else. You can also notify me via a msg like this. 🙂

        I have the bigger post going up tomorrow, but I can only really speak from the indie side.

        I actually started trying to get published when I was 17 and submitted to 10-20 agents/publishers every 6 months. Getting 8 replies out of 12 even for rejections is impressive. I used to get nothing and that left me wondering what I should do. It’ll be interesting to see where things stand in 2018 too. I started with Amazon in 2013 and it already feels like the entire landscape changed.

      I used to have my first book on the other sites, but they never sold even with marketing. I went KDP Select/Amazon exclusive since it was the only place I had activity. For now, I don’t know when I’ll try the other sites again.

    When can we expect path of traitors to be released? I have really enjoyed reading this series and I just finished book 13 and I can’t wait until the next one comes. Thanks for writing a very enjoyable story.

      Glad you’re enjoying the series. Path of Traitors should be released late August/early September. It’s a little tougher to edit this one because it’s a story that runs alongside the finale.

      Thanks. My covers were done by my wife’s cousin, Jason Pedersen. Unfortunately, he was doing this for me as a favor. His last cover was the last book of my series and he’s focusing on his tattoo work now. I’m using a local person for my next series.

    Is this website still going strong? If so, I need some advice. How did you began your stories? Did you use a notebook? I’m having trouble determining length of chapters.

      The blog is still going, but strong might not be the best word. I began my stories with sparks of an idea and then I put built up on that. I’m a big planner, so I used notebooks to design characters, monsters, places, and plot points. That way, I could jump right into writing when I had enough time to do more than tinker. As far as chapter length, it depends on the flow of the story. I typically do 3-4 chapter sections, which puts the chapters at 11-20 pages. It depends entirely on how much writing I need to get the purpose of the section to lock into place. There’s really no set amount as far as I’m concerned, but you do have to make sure the chapter has a clear purpose and doesn’t get bogged down with unnecessary diversions. Hoping this helps a bit.
