Kids unfortunately don’t arrive with an instruction booklet! However, one of the rules my husband and I adopted was that we would stop whatever we were doing, even sleeping, to talk to the kids when they wanted to. And there were some really inconvenient times! The 4:30 AM part came when they were teenagers! Great post, Charles!

Thankfully my son never did the early morning one. The bathroom chats are the equivalent since it’s typically done across the house.
