War of Nytefall
Welcome to another Questions 3 revolving around War of Nytefall.
This time we’re going to try to connect to Clyde’s dream. For this, you have to imagine you’re one of the Dawn Fangs. His dream is for Dawn Fangs and mortals to exist together without fear and violence. To do this, he’s had many of his people live in mortal cities and be out in the open. Not revealing their vampiric nature, but making friends and acting like average citizens. The plan is that enough time will pass for him to reveal their presence and show they’ve been peacefully living among mortals for years. This isn’t easy, especially with the war going on. It also has a big chance of backfiring, but that’s besides the point.
You are a Nytefall vampire and have been placed in a city to blend in. Please keep in mind that taking actions that risk exposure of the Dawn Fangs is met with being pulled back to Nytefall. If mortals are killed then there’s a high chance of being executed.
- What kind of job would you have to blend in?
- How social will you be?
- What will you do if someone becomes suspicious?
Legends of Windemere 
1. If I had to be in an actual city, get myself hired out as a stable hand or something… Maybe groom/stable girl for a tavern? If I could be interacting with humans but not in a city, work on a farm. Especially given the powers/abilities I picked in last week’s question.
2. I’d be polite and friendly to anyone I came in contact with (unless they gave me reason not to be). But I’d keep it to a small number of people I’d be sociable and really friendly with.
3. If they confronted me with accusations, I’d laugh like it’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard, and then make use of one of the differences between dawnfangs and vampires to illustrate how stupid it is, like the fact I’m out in sunlight, my ability to eat actual food, etc. If I just heard whispers that someone might be suspecting, I’d pretend to ignore them while being extra careful of how I behaved when anyone – especially the potentially suspicious person – was anywhere nearby.

Very cunning way to undo suspicions.

1. Either a job I’m good at (easier to maintain if you’re good at something—like a seamstress or bartender) or a job that will cause me to keep a low profile while still providing a necessary service (delivery person).
2. How social will you be? Social enough to evade suspicion. Not overly gregarious, but not a hermit either.
3. What will you do if someone becomes suspicious? I would carry on as normal and avoid any impulsive moves (like killing the person or becoming overly defensive).

To blend in I think I would take a job as an insurance salesperson Those guys work alone and no one ever wants to talk to them
On the social front, I would make Howard Hughes look like a Welcome Wagon Hostess.
If someone becomes suspicious I would hope they are not very important and I would make a pitch for a whole life insurance policy. I’ll bet it is the last time I see them.

I wonder about the no social life approach. It always feels like the smart move, especially when you see it done in fiction. Yet, I think many would get curious over the years.

Yeah I forgot. My daughter is a Millenial and is 32. She would not know or care what you are doing.

I’d probably be a baker or brewer. I’d have to be social at work, but in short interactions. If someone got suspicious, I’d give them a special beer that made them forget all about it.
