Immortal Wars: Light, Blood, & Tears Part 12

(Disclaimer: A warning to those who continue.  This is a sequel to a previous story.  Both of these were written in the mid-1990’s.  While the first one was slightly edited and vanity press published, this one has not been touched in over 20 years.  I figure I should do something with it and people may get a laugh or fright from how I used to be.  Every author comes from somewhere, so this is part of my origin.  To that end, I am deeply sorry for whatever nightmares I will inflict on the literary world and the American English language.  Enjoy?)

“Miracle has been subdued and Infinity is still in your bedroom.  It would appear that you are on your own.  How do you plan to stop her?” ask SEAS while Fate patiently waits in the space skimmer bay.

“Quick and violently,” he answers flatly.

“But she is one of your friends.  Are you cold enough to kill her even though you helped cause her current lose of sanity?”

“I’m not going to kill her.  And this is not my fault.  She should have told us about her problems beforehand.  That way we could have done something instead of unknowingly wait for her to explode.  Besides, she’s crazy.”

“I’m not crazy.  I’m insane.  There is a severely big difference between the two mental behaviors,” mentions Hydrana, who is standing in the open doorway.

“Just give up and spare SEAS the clean up.  You can’t beat me, Hydrana.  You said it yourself during our little talk.”

“I did?  Well that was the old, sane version.  Thanks to you, I’m nuts.  If you hadn’t mentioned my parents and yelled at me for not talking to them, everything would have been kept nice and secured in the back of my head.  Know that every death I cause will be placed on both of our heads.  Well, my head mostly.  Thankfully I’m not insane enough to kill anyone.  Not yet anyway.  Lucky thing for Infinity and Miracle.  Now, shall we dance or talk?”

“Your choice.”

“Ah, a gentleman to the bloody, painful end.  My choice?  Very well, Edward Slane.  I guess I’ll lead,” says Hydrana as she throws the sheathed sword into the newly revamped space skimmer.  She creates large ice claws over her hands before leaping at Fate.  He swiftly jumps out of the way, but he has to dodge her again when the psychotic guardian follows him at a matching speed.  After a minute of bouncing around like ping-pong balls, they stop on top of one of the ships.  Wet claw marks and boot imprints are left over half the space skimmer bay.

“Stand still!  Dodging me is so obnoxious and frustrating!” shouts the redhead.  Without warning, she fires the ice claws at Fate, who tries to roll off the ship.  One of the claws impales his leg to the engine and sends a spurt of blood onto Hydrana, who calmly licks it off her face.  Fate is left dangling over the edge and slowly pulls himself back on top of the ship.

“You do not have to do this, Hydrana,” mentions SEAS who melts the remaining ice claw with a heat beam.  Fate gets up in order to fiercely hurl himself and Hydrana off of the ship.  Both of them land on their head and they both swiftly roll to their feet at the same time.

“Of course I have to do this.  But only someone like Fate can truly understand my reasons.  Isn’t that right, orphan?”

“You have all of my sympathy, but I never knew my parents.  I don’t see how that is similar to a girl whose parents didn’t love her,” replies Fate.

“Oh, it is very similar.  You don’t honestly know why your parents abandoned you.  Maybe they didn’t love you, Fate.  Maybe you are just like me.  The only difference is that your parents were nice enough to throw you away like the garbage they thought you were.  Don’t you understand why I have to go back to my home?”

“I do.  But that doesn’t mean you have to go there alone.  What if those four immortals attack you?”

“Then they will be in for a very deadly, and interesting, surprise.  Ready for another dance, Eddie?”

The redhead kisses him roughly before a water blast knocks him into the far wall.  Her fists cover themselves in thick ice as she runs over to try and smash his head into the titanium floor.  But Hydrana misses every time, which allows Fate the chance to push her off with his legs.  Both flip to their feet and simultaneously kick each other in the stomach.  Only the blond immortal stays standing and he slowly lifts the Neptune guardian up by her neck.

“Go ahead.  Kill me.  I dare you to snap my neck and end my life.  You want to do it, but I don’t think you have the guts.  I think you really do feel sorry for a poor creature like me,” whispers Hydrana.  Fate drops Hydrana on her feet and takes a few steps back.  She massages her neck and playfully smiles at the Mars guardian.

“You can go if you want to.  But the rest of us will follow you to Earth and take you down if necessary.  The next time we meet, Hydrana, one of us might not be walking away,” growls Fate while Hydrana goes into the space skimmer.

“It’s a date, handsome.  Hopefully, I’ll be long gone by the next time you meet with this body.  The personality is always changing and evolving into a different person.  Of course, will the original version be back or will a meaner one replace me?  And then there’s Adriana’s little party.  How will you be able to handle my rampage and the galactic slut at the same time?  By the time you figure out the answer to those problems, you’ll notice what I’ve done to you.  A lot of things can be said with a kiss, Edward.  I wonder what I shared with you,” laughs Hydrana as the space skimmer leaves the sun base and disappears into deep space.

“How are the others, SEAS?” asks Fate after a long silence.

“Infinity is moving around in your room and Miracle is still out cold.  Ignore the unintended pun there, sir,” the computer responds.

“What pun?  Forget it because we don’t have any time for it.  I’ll meet them in the Main Hall as soon as they’re ready.  We have a rogue guardian and four evil immortals to put a stop to.”

“What was Hydrana talking about with that kiss you shared?”

“I have no idea,” says Fate as he walks out of the space skimmer bay.  Instead of letting the door open, he kicks it down and storms down the hallway.

Oh oh oh! Drama! Was Fate’s fate sealed with a kiss? I can’t help wondering.
