First, check out War of Nytefall: Rivalry if you haven’t already and are interested in a fantasy vampire tale. There’s action, adventure, monsters, love, anger, flying bunnies, and tons of gemstones. Just look at the cover:
This week was really busy. Spring Break starts on Thursday, so a lot of gearing up for that has been going on. My birthday was Tuesday, which involved going out with my family to Red Robin. That was really the only relaxing point beyond going to a bar with a friend last night for a late birthday outing. We watched the NY Islanders win their game, which was really cool. Not that into hockey, but it’s nice to see a local team winning, especially the Islanders. I’m really just plopping the events in one paragraph here. Is there any way to stretch this stuff out?
Not really because this week saw me racing at breakneck speeds. I barely had any time to think and write beyond a few blog posts for May. I managed to make a list of June topics at least, which might be a focus for a bit. It’s really hard to do book writing during the week because there’s always something going on at night. By the time I get home and my son to bed, it’s late and I’m tired. The blog posts are all I can manage, especially since I’m in the midst of a point where a lot of the shows I watch are on. Many of them are ending, so I feel like sticking with them. That really isn’t much of an excuse. Well, it isn’t because it’s the tiredness. Having only 2-2.5 hours to write a chapter section makes me feel rushed and sloppy.
The chaos of my life is still going strong too. That life event has taken up a lot of my time this week and will probably do so for the rest of the month. Depends on how if things reach a stability point. This thing is also making it hard to write. To create characters with strength and optimism and love is difficult when you feel like you’ve been stomped into the mud. The action and humor is still possible, but War of Nytefall: Eradication is going to take a while. My hope is to finish it before the summer starts because my summer job goes 9-5 with a lot of preparations. I’m only going to be able to work on the special project since that has small sections and isn’t exactly fiction. Maybe Spring Break will help and get me closer to my goal. I have 10 chapters to go and might be able to get 3 done during that period. 4 if I’m lucky.
Really wish I had more to talk about, but I’ve just been busy. The job is going great and I’m having fun there. Hoping to introduce my son to the original ‘Ghostbusters’ movie today. If he can get through that one without a problem then that opens the door for other movies like ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ and ‘Shazam’. I was younger than him when I watched ‘Ghostbusters’ on TV, so I have faith in him. The weather is pretty gross too, so we can’t do anything outside. Going to try for some book writing tonight since I can sleep in tomorrow.
The only other thing I’m doing is making my way through the Netflix Marvel shows. A friend gave me the order to watch them and I just finished season 1 of ‘Luke Cage’. I’m up to ‘Iron Fist’ now and I’m hoping it’s better than some friends have said. Guess we’ll see about that since I might start it tonight. Time will tell.
