Controlling nature
Answering mortal questions
And punishing at whims
A deity for every aspect
That life threw into the path
Lording over monsters and heroes
To teach lessons
The beloved fables of their day

Now they are fodder
For fiction writers and dreams
Inspiring tales
And plastered as logos
With very little of their luster
Fallen from religion
To mythology
No more than a class
To get college credit
Which path will be the next to fall?

Thanks. I got the idea from an anime where Norse gods were walking around with mortals. Yet, the main mortal who doesn’t realize who they are claims she doesn’t believe in gods. Ghosts, aliens, and other supernatural are a yes. Gods are a no.

Yup. That’s what I did. A college class for three credit hours. (Never worked so hard in my life)

I never made it to that class. It was a level 400, so you had to take a bunch of prerequisites. Heard some horror stories though.

Was only Greek mythology. Old, old, old. We also studied Homer a lot.

I took an Ancient Greece course. The religion one supposedly covered the gamut.

My professor was a dried up old atheist prune so no religion allowed.

I’m surprised they would let someone like that teach a course with a religious component. Then again, I guess expertise is more important than personal beliefs.
