So, I’ve been talking about Legends of Windemere: Warlord of the Forgotten Age going live this weekend. That was the plan, but two things have come up that are going to cause an unfortunate delay.
- Jason is doing something special with the cover to have things end with a bang. I don’t know the details because it’s a surprise, but it’s turning out to be more complicated than previous covers. All I’ve been told is that he’s doing the cover the ‘Traditional Way’, which I think means by hand instead of computer. So, we’re making sure not to rush here, which is smart.
- My medical thing next Monday means I’ll be unable to really focus on the release and promos. I’d basically hit publish on Friday, rush through everything on Saturday while doing other things, and then disappear for Sunday and Monday. That isn’t how it should be. I really think I should be focused on the book and it would be a sad way to end this series to simply throw it out and leave it at that.
So, I apologize to everyone who expected the book and all the volunteers who have been waiting for the guest post. I’ve been trying my hardest to get things done, but it feels like obstacles beyond my control keep turning up. Seriously, how could I have predicted that I’d have to go in for a medical procedure that should really come with a stiff drink and teddy bear afterwards? Thanks to everyone who understands.
First – Get your procedure over and done with.
Second – Recover fully from it

The recovery shouldn’t take too long as long as it goes smoothly. I’m just annoyed that something I’ve been preparing for since August has been derailed so badly.

Things happen in deserts and woods, Charles, and the plans of mice go awry as well, no matter how well planned 😎

No worries. It’s important to get the cover done right, and not rush it. Also, I agree that releasing a book and then disappearing for a few days isn’t the best idea if you can avoid having things work out like that. Whenever you are ready to release the books, and you have the links and such I can add to the post we worked on, I’ll figure out a date and put up the announcement for you. In the meantime, it’s not causing any trouble sitting there waiting for those final pieces. 🙂

I’m hoping most of the people that requested guest posts feel that way. Another worry is that releasing too close to Christmas is a big risk. People are less likely to go shopping, but anyone who gets a Kindle might get the book. Not to mention families going on vacation. There’s a lot more unknown now.

Yes, take care of yourself, Charles. That’s the important thing. I’ll be out of town for Christmas, but should be back by the 28th. Let me know when you want the interview to go up.

From how it’s looking, it might be a January thing with the post. I could end up hitting publish next weekend, but things are up in the air.

Best to make sure you’re okay, first and foremost. I’ll be able to post the group interview whenever you’re ready for it to go up. And yeah, rushing on the cover wouldn’t be the best idea. Awesomeness takes time, and that’s even when things go smoothly.

Thanks. Awesomeness definitely takes time and this is Jason’s final cover. So, it really should be done with care.

I’m sure everything will turn out for the best, a slight delay won’t deter the people who really want to read it. Good luck with your procedure.

Thanks. Fingers crossed on all fronts. Need a sales boost badly.

The beauty of self publishing. Deadlines are more like guidelines. I don’t make promises about publication dates. I may say something vague like winter, but not first week of January. Take care of yourself first. That’s what I have to do now too.

I try really hard to keep it vague to a month, but I get questioned a lot since this is a series. There’s also been a constant issue of having a solid date ready to go, but a last minute event throws everything out of whack. Honestly, I’ve sometimes wondered if I’m cursed.
