I know this post might fall on deaf ears, but I figured it was worth a shot. I’m always looking for ways to interact here and that usually boils down to opening the floor for questions. I have an ask the author section that typically goes unnoticed, so I’m going to post about something similar.
Mostly this is being done because I have no idea what to do on Tuesdays because spoilers are too common in the Windemere books. I also can’t keep using the Bedlam stuff without the entire book getting posted. Let this be a lesson to anyone who attempts a long series. Things get tougher when it comes to promoting the later books. I’m already looking at having to avoid testing out the blurbs for ‘Ritual of the Lost Lamb’ here because I can’t write them without revealing the end of The Spirit Well.
What I can do is receive questions and write a spontaneous post about them. Maybe there’s something I’ve never talked about like the origin of a character or if there was something more behind a story. This goes for Bedlam, Ichabod, Legends of Windemere, and Dawn Addison. If there’s anything you want to know then feel free to ask a question in the comments. I’ll probably be starting this up the second Tuesday in January since week 1 of 2017 will be the top posts of 2016. Yes, I’ll be starting out as a lazy blogger next year.
You’ve made a big splash in fantasy, and danced around with paranormal. Are you going to take on science fiction any time soon? You’ve talked about super heroes, but I believe they had ties to Windemere.

Good one. Superheroes really have become their own genre over the years.

And a popular one too. I have a short thing planned that kind of goes that direction.

Superheroes could be a bridge too. Some use tech and some use magic, so it’s hard to put it in one or the other.

Mine will be an artifact, so it might be more paranormal.

Depends on the origin. Alien artifacts would make it sci-fi. These genres seem to merge and share stuff so often that it isn’t any wonder they get categorized together. ‘A wizard/jedi did it!’

You make a good point. I always considered them a branch of science fiction, but they don’t all fit that mold.

Posts are written and got me thinking. Really need to decide on what I’m doing with those superheroes. Dystopian tales are another strange area.

True. It’s a setting, but could be for any number of reasons including nature.

My questions: How do you juggle multiple series? What do you do to transition from one series to the next? What stories or characters from Windemere would you like to see in graphic novel form if you had the opportunity?

I might skip that third one since it isn’t easy to fit with the other two. Also, I wouldn’t even know what to say. It would be whatever gets the artist’s interest.

Okay. I like John’s suggestion below.

What about taking an individual from the news or history and having them interact with characters from your books.

You mean like having Abe Lincoln chat with Luke Callindor? I’m not really sure I can do justice to a person who actually existed or currently exists.

I would like to know the inspiration for the Bedlam series. I know your fantasy world was inspired by your gaming so what inspired bedlam?

I’ll chime in with a few questions of my own, please realize it’s been a while since I read your first Windmere bundle:
How did Luke get to the top of that tree when he was young? (Sorry if you already answered this)
Have you ever thought about writing a steam punk novel set in Windmere with the goblins (those are the inventors, right)?
How many types of apples has Fizzle sampled? (I hope I spelled his name right)
I hope these questions help you with a post or two.
