Curse of the Dark Wind Coming December 12th!!!

Got a big week here!  Two big events are coming!

Read TuesdayThat’s right.  Read Tuesday is coming this week, which means a day of amazing deals on books.  You’ll have FREE, KINDLE COUNTDOWNS, and DISCOUNT COUPONS!  It’s the perfect time to get gifts for your friends and bulk up your library for 2015.  Keep on eye on the site and join in the fun on Tuesday.

I will be making one post a day about this event and how Legends of Windemere will be involved.  I will admit to being a little hesitant about doing this so early because there’s always that one person who missed the word ‘TUESDAY’.  People get excited and they jump the gun.  Not sure if that’s off-sides or neutral zone infraction or if that’s the same thing since I’m too exhausted to think.  I’ve also just learned that I got left in charge of the kid and didn’t get a full warning.

THE OTHER BIG EVENT!

Yup.  LEGENDS OF WINDEMERE: CURSE OF THE DARK WIND will be going live on FRIDAY, DECEMBER 12th!  That means you’ll be seeing a lot of book-based posts this week and I’ll be prepping the promo stuff that will hopefully carry me into February.  I’m curious to see how this combined with Read Tuesday will affect my books since THE COMPASS KEY didn’t make it beyond the 50’s in Sword & Sorcery.  I think there’s a lot more competition and I’m hitting a mental burn out on the marketing.  Only so many times I can be excited about promoting the same book on FB (not even sure this has an affect) and Twitter (at least I get retweets).  So DARK WIND will certainly re-energize me in that arena.  All I know is that leaving them alone for a while resulted in the books sitting like warts on the Internet toad.  Not even the visible ones.

I won’t be around too much today because I’m helping a friend with something.  This means I’ll be quiet like I was yesterday.  Not sure when I’ll get back this time and I plan on being exhausted.  Whatever energy I have will be directed toward editing because I have the last 3 chapters of Book 8 to finish.  After that, I’ll be doing another low key week with a few outlines, notebook work, and preparing for the debut.  If it goes like last time then I won’t have to worry too much because I got everything done by lunch.  The biggest headache will be the tweets since I won’t be able to schedule them the day before.  It’s for the best and I need time to think about my future anyway.

So, what are the goals?

  1. Promote and make sure my books are ready for Read Tuesday.
  2. Finish editing Book 8.
  3. Prepare and promote CURSE OF THE DARK WIND.
  4. Get a hair cut . . . maybe.
  5. Challenge the mall for a certain movie that comes out on Tuesday.
  6. Notebook work.
  7. Send book summary to Jason for Book 7.
  8. Double check outline for Book 9, which I plan on starting the week before my son’s 2 week break.  That way I get a little head start since I’ll be tackling the special project in February.  It’s a secret and I’m still a little nervous about it.
  9. Sleep.

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

I stumbled upon this series on goodreads and got very impressed with the cover art. After reading the reviews there, I moved the series up in my to-read list, hopefully will get to blogging about them soon. I am happy to find such a promising new YA Fantasy series to read. Who is the cover artist? They did an excellent job.

    • Happy to hear that the series moved up your list. I hope you enjoy it. The cover artist is Jason Pedersen. He’s my wife’s cousin and does tattoo work out in Arizona. He goes to conventions too. Amazing talent and I’m sure I wouldn’t have gotten this far without him.

Sleep and a haircut seem to be the most important things on the list–not necessarily in that order, of course. Have fun with the projects, Charles!

  4. Waiting for a book to come out is sort of like waiting for the dinner bell to ring, except the feeling lasts several days longer. 🙂
