Today I’m off my game
After a night
Of restless sleep
Waking to a groggy mind
That will not focus
Words are hazy as I read
The voices far away
A day of waste before me
Though I know not why
I feel lost
Lazy like a bloated beast
Though my hunger is not sated
Today is murky with crying clouds
But those are not at fault
Something missing?

Sorry, but i got you beat. I started drinking scotch and corona with lime at 4 a.m.ish. Imagine how my day will go:>) I do like your poem, though.

You win on the self-induced version. I’m not even sure what hit me.

You need a day off your game. It is a challenge to be “ON” every day.

Not going to happen soon. Seems to universe is trying to make me pay this week. Yesterday my wife’s car died and we don’t know if we can fix it. No rest at all.

Bummer. My husband had his little Mercedes hard top convertible hit in the rear yesterday….must be going around. At least the guy has insurance.

I wish car insurance covered maintenance. It would make the price more tolerable since I’ve never had an accident. Wonder if I can find a car for 100 bucks.
LikeLike
lol….good luck with that…it might not run, but you probably can. We had to PAY that much to have a guy haul off one of my stepson’s vehicles.

We can’t afford a new car, so who knows what will happen. This is doing wonders for my stomach.

We found a good one for my daughter on Craig’s list. $2000. and she paid us $80. per month. She has had it for four year and keeps up maintenance. No problems with the. maybe someone could finance for you.

It might have to come to that. The only other option is to cash in all my stocks that family has bought me over the years. That would mean the end of the emergency cushion.

Maybe not all but just enough for a down payment. No car is sort of an emergency in my book. What’s wrong with it, do you know?
LikeLike
It won’t turn on and it’s a new battery. We’re hoping it’s something simple. The car is an emergency if you need it to get to work. We have that ‘no car, no job’ issue. I could let her use mine, but that leaves me home without a vehicle.

Maybe the terminals just need to be cleaned or adjusted.

I truly hope so. This is stress that I don’t need.

I’m right there with you. Feel like I’ve been off my game all week (probably longer.) haven’t touched my fiction in days. Blerg….. I’ll pull things together somehow. Just don’t have the energy to write. Just maintaining the blog has taken a real effort lately.

Yeah. I’ve been editing the same chapter all week. Not good.

I hope you’re feeling better stomach-wise and word-wise. I’ve definitely felt off my game word-wise. Hoping that will change soon for the both of us.

My stomach is still dancing around the threat of pain. I keep some Ibuprofen with me in case it starts up. Just taking it easy today. 🙂

Sounds like the stress gods are definitely having their way with you. Hopefully the car problem will be a simple fix; but even when the fix is simple, the problem is still a nuisance at best. Hope you are feeling better … as best as you can …

It’s the starter, which can be fixed. Still it’s money and that isn’t flowing on lately.

I’ll presume you’re doing better today…the only nice thing about reading people’s posts late is you can hope they’re moving forward! 🙂

It’s not gotten worse. Stress is still an issue.

You need a sensei more than a Doc I think.

Definitely need a doc. The stress can’t be handled through positive thinking and relaxing. I just need a med to take for when the issue starts up.

Sure thing…positive thinking and relaxing is a preventative not a cure.
