Off My Game

CapybaraToday I’m off my game
After a night
Of restless sleep
Waking to a groggy mind
That will not focus
Words are hazy as I read
The voices far away
A day of waste before me
Though I know not why
I feel lost
Lazy like a bloated beast
Though my hunger is not sated
Today is murky with crying clouds
But those are not at fault
Something missing?

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

Sorry, but i got you beat. I started drinking scotch and corona with lime at 4 a.m.ish. Imagine how my day will go:>) I do like your poem, though.

You need a day off your game. It is a challenge to be “ON” every day.

  3. I’m right there with you. Feel like I’ve been off my game all week (probably longer.) haven’t touched my fiction in days. Blerg….. I’ll pull things together somehow. Just don’t have the energy to write. Just maintaining the blog has taken a real effort lately.

I hope you’re feeling better stomach-wise and word-wise. I’ve definitely felt off my game word-wise. Hoping that will change soon for the both of us.

Sounds like the stress gods are definitely having their way with you. Hopefully the car problem will be a simple fix; but even when the fix is simple, the problem is still a nuisance at best. Hope you are feeling better … as best as you can …

I’ll presume you’re doing better today…the only nice thing about reading people’s posts late is you can hope they’re moving forward! 🙂
