Ask a Character: Trinity

In honor of Prodigy of Rainbow Tower debuting at the end of the month, I’m opening the floor to one of the new characters.  I already did an interview for Nyx, so we’re going to get to know her sinister rival this time.  As an added bonus, the best questions are going to be put into a post on Sarah M. Cradit’s blog later this month.

Trinity is the Queen of the Chaos Elves, who used to mischievous troublemakers until they abruptly became assassins.  She is a very powerful spellcaster with enough magic to rival Nyx.  Her power is increased by the three enhancer games, one in her forehead and one in each palm.  Unlike Nyx, Trinity doesn’t have a favorite spell category, so she is very versatile and unpredictable.  She loves puzzles and challenges, which can get her into trouble and make her disobey orders.

So, ask away and see who is ready to heckle our guest.

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

  1. Hi Trinity, this is my question:
what would you do if one morning you woke up in Nyx body and you know for sure she was in yours? (Powers are swapped as well of course!)

    • Trinity: Well, the powers are the same really. We both do magic with the same level of power. That means all my tricks will still be at my disposal.

Nyx: Am I allowed to say what I would do?

Trinity: Nope. This is my interview, so you’re going to have to sit and stew. I would cause so much trouble in her body. Burn some buildings down, enchant things to attack people, and probably have her sleep around with unsavory characters. Really drive her reputation into the ground.

Nyx: You wouldn’t try to corrupt me or kill me?

Trinity: I’m going under the assumption that one day I will wake up in my old body. So, corrupting you would put you on my side, which my master could see as me becoming obsolete. I’d rather have you as a rival than an ally, sweetie. As for killing you, I would be killing myself, so that’s just short-sighted.

    Dear Trinity,

    1) Do you know what your name means? Is there any background story of how/why you received the name Trinity?

    2) As a freedom lover myself: Do you have any magic freedom spells to offer?

    • Trinity: I believe my name means three or a union of three or something like that. I was given the name because of my enhancer gems. I have one in my forehead and one in each palm. The sages knew I would have them because I was born with scars in those areas.

Nyx: You were born with scars?

Trinity: If a world of magic that confuses you? You set your crib on fire as an infant, so I don’t want any strange looks from you.

      Nyx: Fair enough.

Trinity: I do know a few escape spells if that’s what you mean by magic freedom spells. Teleportation is dangers even for someone of my power, so I use shifting spells and invisibility to get out of trouble. I’m very skilled and shape-shifting spells too.

😀 Thank you so much, Trinity. I love the story of your name, and your methods match my present needs of more freedom very well, although I don´t need to escape from anyone or anything. Except from myself sometimes…

Have a great journey with Nyx and all!

I share this post, because my inner child delighted to play with Trinity, and I greatly enjoy Charles´s imagination, not to talk about the magic and acceptance of certain human personality traits via these characters. Wanna play too and make questions to Trinity? I share this post also because of its wonderful synchronicity: My screen name for a blog, I thought I might begin in my native language would have been derived consciously from the name Trinity (a shorter form of it).

  5. Hi Trinity, I was wondering if you became Queen of the Chaos Elves because of your power, or if you were born a princess.

    • Trinity: Wuh? How did I end up back here?

Nyx: Latecomer and it isn’t like we were doing anything. He’s busy watching Smallville and blogging.

Trinity: Slacker. I was chosen to be the new Queen by my master. He learned about my magic and put me in charge. The former ruler taught me all that he knew and was retired.

Nyx: I assume you mean killed.

Trinity: Fed to demons, but given a head start and a sword. My master already knows that won’t work with me, so my position is safe.

      • Sorry I’m late to the party. I was actually really looking forward to your interview, Trinity. You’re one of my favorite characters in ‘Allure of the Gypsies’.
        (You, too, Nyx!)
My next question is, are you married?

        Like

      • Nyx: You’re reading the third book already? This one seems to be in the lead.

Trinity: Apparently. I’m not married. I have no time and more important things. Maybe I’ll be married when all of this is over.

        Nyx: If you’re still alive.

Trinity: I’m sure I’ll be the last caster standing, my little rival.

        Like

      • Yes, Nyx, I’m slowly reading the third book. I’m about 100 pages into it. It is awesome. Even better than ‘Prodigy’!

Oh I see, Trinity. The average working woman. Sort of. 🙂

      • Nyx: Better than Prodigy? Must be Sari.

Trinity: She’s going to beat all of us with fans. Fizzle is the only one that could possibly be ahead of her.

        Like

      • Yes, it is Sari. 😉 Fizzle IS still cute and cuddly!
But I’m starting to like you more and more, Trinity.

      • Nyx: I think she has the older version too.

Trinity: Oh, the one with Tempest’s old name? That’s a shame.

Nyx: I think she can figure out the new name when she sees what she debuts with.

Trinity: Think we’re driving her nuts with the vague talking?

Nyx: Incredibly. Not even sure if she’s at Haven yet.

        Trinity: We’re so cruel.

      • Um, are you still talking to me?

      • Trinity: More teasing.

Nyx: That book changes a lot about the series. Poor Luke.

Trinity: The Lich us surprising in it too.

Nyx: So, what was the question?

        Like

      • Oh, got it. I thought I must have missed something! 🙂 And I don’t even remember what the question was.
It was nice talking to you ladies!!!
