Welcome to Windemere

A genuine, heartfelt welcome to everyone who has wandered over to my corner of the internet.  I am Charles Edward Yallowitz and this is my author blog/website.  It is here that I will be posting sections of my books, personal musings, updates for future products, and updates for available products.  Here you can get a taste of the world that I have created and then move on to the e-book store of your choice to continue your journey into my realm.

A more serious origin for me is that I have always wanted to be a writer.  To be more specific, I always wanted to be a storyteller.  I am happiest when I am entertaining people with the stories that are in my head.  When I went to college, it was to learn how to be an author.  I went to classes and did the good student thing, but this is also where Windemere came into being.  I joined a Dungeons & Dragons game where I created Luke Callindor and eventually got the idea of turning these adventures into a series.  All the other players gave me their blessings and then the game promptly died before we had any conclusions to the story.  Yet, the seed was planted and I began testing story characters in other games, which allowed Windemere to grow into this amazing fictional world.  Even today, I am surprised how this world has grown by absorbing my interests and knowledge.

This is where my path has taken me to.  I am on the verge of publishing the first three books of Legends of Windemere, which will introduce readers to the world.  As I said, I love telling a good story, so my focus is almost entirely on character evolution and character relations.  So, I use more dialog and character reactions than other fantasy-based stories.  I have been told many times that reading my stories is like reading a movie, which these people assure me is a good thing.

More of my style, world, and characters will be discussed in detail throughout the posts on this site.  As for a posting schedule, here it is:

Monday- Post a section of one of my books.  These will be posted in order, so Legends of Windemere: Beginning of a Hero Prologue Part 1 will be appearing on Monday.

Wednesday-  A personal blog post that gives you insight into my mind.  This can be my thoughts on something in the writing world, personal philosophies, or if a current event perks and peaks my interest.  Also, if (down the road) I get a fan question that fits into this category, it will turn up here.

Friday-  Updates on what I am working on and stories about how certain characters or places came to be.  If I get a lot of fan questions (again, down the road) then I’ll be posting a Youtube Video where I answer them personally.  Unfortunately, this means people would have to look at my ugly mug, but why should my wife be the only one to suffer.

So, again I give a friendly hello to everyone who enters and hope you enjoy the site when I start the book postings on Monday.

About Charles Yallowitz

Charles E. Yallowitz was born, raised, and educated in New York. Then he spent a few years in Florida, realized his fear of alligators, and moved back to the Empire State. When he isn't working hard on his epic fantasy stories, Charles can be found cooking or going on whatever adventure his son has planned for the day. 'Legends of Windemere' is his first series, but it certainly won't be his last.

  3. Did you ever do a Youtube video answering questions Charles? Is that something that is still on the cards? It seems like an interesting idea.

    • I’ve thought about it, but I never had enough questions to do much. I also haven’t figured out where the charger for my digital camcorder went. I’m still putting that on a future project status.
