Shane asked me some questions in the week that I’m answering today. I should also apologize because I almost forgot with everything going on. Here we go:
- What is your favorite non-fiction book?
I thought about this long and hard until I realized that I really haven’t read non-fiction outside of textbooks. I never had an interest in buying somebody’s life-story when I could just research it at the library or the internet. I do have a lot of Tolkien ‘behind-the-scenes’ books, but those are still steeped in fiction. So, I really don’t have an answer for this question.
- What is your favorite fantasy novel?
First, I’m going to say favorite novel of all time is ‘Ender’s Game’ by Orson Scott Card, but that’s science-fiction. So, my favorite fantasy novel . . . people guess Narnia or Lord of the Rings so often for me. Yet, my answer goes back to the book series that started it all. By ‘it’, I mean my decision to be an author. Fred Saberhagen’s ‘Books of Lost Swords’ is what I read in high school that made me decided to follow the path I’m on now. I haven’t read the series in a while, but I will always consider it my favorite because it holds a special place in my heart. I suggest anyone who loves fantasy to give it a look.
